... with the release of the DN-2, ML-2, and FZ-5?
it appears that the FZ-5 replaces pedals that Roland/Boss already discontinued a long time ago. however, my local 'guitar center'* no longer carries the OD-3 (replaced by the DN-2?); could production of the OD-3 have ceased? and could the MD-2 (replaced by the ML-2?) be far behind?
* some of the locals pronounce it "gey-tahr center" |

| It wouldn't surprise me if the MD-2 becomes the next PW-2...As far as the OD-3, that would surprise me if they discontinued that as I thought it was a rather good seller. I have noticed that some places like Musicians Friend have cut the price on the MT-2 Metal Zone though.... |

The new pedals are all COSM devices and I'm unsure how popular these will turn out to be. After all they're a bit different from the other pedals design-wise. I'd expect Boss to trial them for a while and monitor the sales compared to the old ones before they make a decision.
A while ago I listed monthly production numbers based on how quickly the serial number increases. If I remember correctly the OD-3 was at the bottom of the stack with the MD-2 and OS-2 following next. |

| I was guessing before OS-2 would be next on the chopping block. Does anyone actually use this as an integral part of their pedal board? I never really liked it much. OD-3 on the other hand is a good overdrive and it would be a shame if Boss discontinued it, although that never stopped them in the past. It will be interesting to see how the MT-2 fairs now that the ML-2 is out. It is hard to imagine Boss discontinuing the MT-2 though. |

OS-2 is the one to go in my opinion, I have never liked it very much. MT-2 is not a very good distortion either, it sound really bad in bigger tube amps (my opinion). But I believe itīs a big seller for Boss. I hope they keep both DS-1 and SD-1, they are really good ones and classics in their respective field.

Yeah, i need a good door stop Is it just me, or did a mod come out immedatley after it was released to fix all the problems ppl were complaining about? They were on the right track with the hi/low and mid dials. Sold mine for a OS-2, which prompty got traded for a sd-1. A sd-1 with the above tone dials would be really good i imagine. Hope the SD-1 isn't one that gets discontinued |

| Mega Distortion most likely, it's the least selling one in musician's friend.. I'm very surprised to learn that the OD-3 is the next low seller... But I don't think it'll get discontinued, they OUGHT to have one simple "Distortion" (Ds-1), and one plain simple "Overdrive" (OD-3) on their product line... and the OD-3 is a higher price pedal, maybe the OS-2, which is cheaper, is the other one to get discontinued among the Mega Distortion. People is crazy and have crazy tastes, I think that the MD-2 is way much better than the Metal Zone for harder music... but people seem to prefer the other one, since it's between their highest sellers.... |
