Hi! This thread is nearly the one about next new Boss pedal, but anyway. I really would like Boss to do a 12-string simulator. But I donīt know if itīs possible. So, do you guys (or women) have any ideas about wich pedal today that can give the best 12-string simulation results? Maybe there already is one that can make this, I donīt know. Would be fun to read your thoughts. |

| I thought I heard that a chorus pedal used a certain way can sort of get 12-string sounds from a regular guitar, just can't remember how to set it to get that effect... |

| I think the HR-2 Harmonist, PS-5 Pitch Shifter, or any Boss Chorus can get close. Mate either one with a AC-2 or AC-3 Acoustic Simulator & you might have it. |

| I've never really bought the idea that chorus can replicate a 12-string: It gives a flavour of the out-of-tuneness inherent in a 12, but without the octave unison strings it doesn't come close. I had the PS-2 for ages, and though it does +1 octave, the voice of the shifted note is so synthy-sounding, it's also fairly unconvincing: Sad to say, I believe the Electro Harmonix's Micro pog is the best 12-string sound pedal at the moment - I've always rated Boss way above EHX, mainly on build quality, durability and decent useful sounds, but i'm quite tempted by the Micro pog, both for 12-string, and quasi-Hammond sounds... I bought a 12 string acoustic last week...and the sound to me is between a chorus and a phaser....idon't know about a 12 electric but the sound of the acoustic 12 string would be very hard to replicate with a pedal or pedals i think..... BTW it a walden d552 and it only cost 150 euro...not much dearer than a boss chorus pedal.... ......... |
