Fianlly got my hands on the ROD10! Haven't plugged it in yet, but I got it (with the box!) for about 40% less than it's going for in LA these days!

Okay, so the ROD-10 came in the original box, with instructions and Boss Pocket Dictionary Vol. 3

This thing smokes! What a great unit this one is. Now I'll hooked and I'm going to have to track down the others (as long as the price is fair).

So far I've collected 9 of these units. All of them at giveaway prices. Got to admit I haven't even tested them all yet. Too much to do lately but I'll get round to it... eventually

The ROD is one of those I'm still missing

Really? Nine of them already? There's a shop down the road from where I live that has about three or four units, but they're quite a bit higher in price than I would pay. After reading about the phaser unit, I want to pick one of those up next. The ROD sounds fantastic, as I mentioned above. I have this thing about rackmount gear though... If it's good I always end up wishing that the indiviual sections were in stompboxes. Sick, huh?

I set a max price of 30 ($50). I will have trouble getting any of the RDDs for that price but the others will go for that price most of the time. The only ones missing now are the EQs, the RDDs and the ROD.

That's around the price that I have set as a limit for myself as well, unless it has all of the packaging, or at least the box. Then I'll go up a bit. The thing is that six months ago, here in LA, you could find them for $50-75, but now you're going to have to expect a much higher price tag. It doesn't make much sense, because they aren't that popular. They sit on the shelf forever when someone has them.

The RRV-10 I love and don't think I'll ever get rid of (replace, perhaps). I'm still not sold on the RDD-10. You can plug an expression pedal into the back and manipulate the delay time on the fly, creating weird time warps effects ('like the very beginnig of the looney tunes theme). It doubles as a chorus/flanger on lower delay settings, but these are all novelties rather than really useful aspects to me. I'm not sure that it has the same kind of soul as my old analogue delay, even with it's tone knob. I've got another on the way (Arion SAD-1, no way i'm forking out $250 for a DM-series), so I can A/B.

I have the RRV-10 and like it very much, very useful and contains lots of good reverbs. I have never liked any rack-reverbs/multieffects prior to this one, RRV-10 reverbs in a sweat way, not the regular sterile way digital usually does.
How does it compare to RV-2 or RV-3, I have none of them?

thanks for the tip about the RDD-10, RRV-10... I was wondering if the tone knob on it or the RDD-20 made it analog-like. (does the RDD-10's tone knob function in much the same way as the the RRV-10's tone knob?)

Goran, regarding the RRV-10 vs. the RV-2, I have both, and they both sound great. the RRV-10 has more features (different reverb settings) than the RV-2, and is much more versatile IMHO, but the RV-2 also has a delay setting. since neither the RV-2 nor the RRV-10 can be battery powered, there's really no advantage to a compact version, so since you have the RRV-10, you really don't need the RV-2. can't comment on the RV-3, though.

finally, does anyone know about the serial numbers of Boss micro-series 1/2 rack effects... I have 5 of them now (RGE-10, RPQ-10, RRV-10, monochrome knobs ROD-10, RPW-7), and only the RPW-7 has a serial number (stamped into a metal plate on the back of the unit). I've never opened up any of these guys; has anyone seen a serial number anywhere on the others?

** oh yeah, does anyone know if the power cables that the RPW-7 uses to power other micro-series effects, or that individual micro-series 1/2-racks can use to chain a power supply together) are still available from Boss? I could probably make them myself, but it might be more cost-effective to buy the real thing....

You can buy any Daisy chain cables (with the right plug ), Boss is more expensive than for example EBS. Ibanez also makes them, about the same price as Boss.
You can also find cheap Korea or China variants.
Be aware that some are shorter between each plug! When you use Micro Racks this can give trouble! If they are not on top of each other...

Dont make them by yourself, its not easy get them good as there has to be two cables in one plug.

Another argument for not making them yourself is that the plugs and cable alone will cost you more than a premade cable. I made one myself about 10 years ago and noticed this when the cable was finished.

I'm selling my beloved RRV-10 - i've recently acquired a few new effects and it can't fit on my board anymore. A potential buyer has contacted me asking if mine is one of the rare earlier versions with a 'flutter' option. I think he's being taken for a ride that any such variant unit existed. Anyone every heard of this before?

Just bought a RRV-10 for $40 NZ (about 13 pounds)! Wow, it's easily worth 5 times that sonically! I'm definitely getting more of this series...
It deserves the llama

I have a GT8 and still use the RPS-10 in the loop.

The RPS-10 is the Adrian Belew Backwards Box.

Dial in the Reverse mode and remove all the direct signal and it's warm enough to sound like flipping the tape over.

Way Cool box.

ps. Runs on the Boss adapter and Boss FS5L to turn the effect On/off.

Hi Everyone

I am new here, I was looking through the bossus website and I noticed there was no manual for the RDD-10 has anyone got a scan of the settings, the one setting I am interested in was from what I can remember is a 12 string effect.

Thanks in advance
