| Point taken.... I stand corrected. I guess I've just never seen one before, I thought for sure they were all MIT. |

It might actually be MIJ cause according to the NS-2 profile on BossArea, there are some Silver Label MIJ NS-2s. However this guy did not put a pic of the label, so who knows?
I understand the confusion though, because a few months ago when I was looking to get an NS-2 I saw an MIJ one listed on eBay, and I thought they were full of crap, until I checked this site and realized that there are some MIJ NS-2s... |

| It sure is, I just recently added mine back to my chain, and I have no idea why I ever took it out. |

At the end or the beginning of the chain?

| I use mine in front of my amp and at the end of my chain, though I heard that producer Steve Albini uses either the NS-2, or MXR Line Driver, first in his chain when performing in his various musical projects. I run a small set-up though, MT-2 (Keeley Modded) into the NS-2, and I don't use the loop, just the guitar -> MT-2 -> NS-2 -> Amp. I've never tried running my NS-2 first in the chain, but I tried to put my NF-1 first, but it resulted in volume cut outs and fluctuations. I guess you would run the NS-2 first if you use the built in loop, but I never had luck with distortion in FX loops, so I never bothered trying that. |

I guess that that's what I was getting at with my question -- which of the two ways of using the NS-2 was considered to be more effective.
The ability to have a kill switch at the start of the chain seems like a neat thing, but there are other ways to accomplish that if noise suppression works better at the end of the chain.
