The usual rules apply: - No discussions about politics or religion. - No name calling or flaming - No sexually or racially oriented comments. - No spam - Don't post links to, or promote distribution of copyrighted books, videos or music files.
Any user who breakes any of these rules will be banned.
I don't understand the copyrighted rule. Even linking to the Roland website or somewhere on BossArea itself we are breaking that rule. BossArea also contains copyrighted information from The Boss Book and the Pocket Dictionaries. To be perfectly honest I've already broken that rule and nobody has caught me on it.
What I meant is no links to copyrighted mp3's, videos or something else that could get the site into trouble.
Yes, there are already some breaches of copyrighted text here. Most notably from the pocket dictionaries. There is information taken from the Boss Book but I don't there's any direct quotes so in that case it's not a copyright infringement.
Can you post more info about copyright and patent laws and rules?
When people post links to datasheets of chips and components are they braking copyrights or patents laws? And what about when you open your gears and you post which are the components?
I don't know much about copyright laws so I'm afraid I can't elaborate much on the topic.
I think it's ok to link to datasheets, schematics and other technical documents. The focus is usually on sites promoting music and video downloading so everything else should be ok. Also think that backwards engineering is perfectly legal as long as we don't start production based on the information we find.
I appreciate the spam in this section. When I first read the shangibad thing I genuinely assumed it was something lampooning the rules.
With that in mind, may I express my dislike towards that political party that is quite inadequate. They clearly have misguided religious beliefs and I feel inclined to question their sexual preferences. Also, check out this viagra, it was featured on a great filesharing website!
