| Do we have a list for sure? I'm pretty sure the DS-1 did. But I was specifically wondering abbout the OC-2, GE-7 and PSM-5. Thanks for any help. |

| The pedals that were carried over from Japan to Taiwan are all listed on the main bossarea.com page. Click on each pedal icon and it will tell you whether it was made in Japan, Taiwan or both. |

| Thanks. Actually what I meant was what pedals changed in terms of circuitry etc. In other words a Japan DS-1 is different from a Taiwan DS-1. But are Japanese OC-2, GE-7 or PSM-5 different from there Taiwan counterparts. |

The DS-1 did change around 94. The op-amp was changed around that time as was some other circutry. The MIJ DS-1 and the MIT DS-1 do sound different. as to the other pedals you mentioned, I beleve that they stayed pretty much the same. Hope this helped. |

I see. I misunderstood the first post.
As far as I know the DS1 is the one pedal that was made in Japan and Taiwan that had the most radical changes made to it. The SD1 had an opamp change as well, but by changing that single component back to the original opamp, you can acheive the same sound as a vintage MIJ SD1 for the most part. With the DS1 this is not possible because the revised versions opamp is incompatable with the original. Also some other components were changed.
I'm not aware of any other circuit changes that took place after the move to Taiwan, but perhaps some of the others know something more about this.

Nope - check the HM-2 - it was definetly also made in Taiwan.

| Yes, I am aware of the HM2 versions. I haven't been out to the main site for some time, but it is fairly comprehensive in listing the versions both MIJ and MIT. Perhaps there are one or two cases where there are omissions in the listings though. |

The differences between Japan and Taiwan pedals will be added to the pedal information pages but in many cases I will just have to wait for the owners to tell me first.
I had no idea that there were Taiwan made OD-2s. It was produced up until the mid 90s so it shouldn't be surpising though. Moffias, what's the colour of the label on your OD-2? Black label MIT HM-2s will be added as well.
Circuit differences are even more difficult to unearth. Boss has recently started using surface mount components so there are also differences between old Taiwan and new Taiwan pedals. The CE-5 is probably the best example of that as it has changed from analog to digital circuitry without notice.
I think the OC-2 and GE-7 is identical between Japan and Taiwan models. |

Here is a current ( 8/31/05 ) ebay US listing that shows the GE-7 with black MIT label. It is listed here as only being silver MIT label.

I beleve that the OD-2r was built in Taiwan, but the original OD-2 was MIJ. |

Hello. this is my first post so be nice. About MIJ/MIT the bigest diference is the power adapter plug position. If it is in the bottom MIJ. Half way to the midle MIT.
