I would go for either a Fulltone '69 Fuzz Pedal or a Keely 4 knob compressor. The real challenge in my view will be the switching circuitry.

The design of the Keeley compressor is similar to the Ross found here

http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/geo_d&r_comp.pdf

You can find the exact schematic in freestompboxes.org. Do a search for Keeley compressor.

Sorry to read you couldn't fix your CS-3.

Would you consider selling the pcb only?

PM me an offer if that is OK with you.

Tried that with the Dano Octave Fuzz, and to keep the switching the same as the Boss, couldn't fit both boards in the enclosure.

Maybe a Behringer pedal like the Vibrato, if you can figure out the Latch/Bypass.
