Rich_S made a comment he put his first CE-2 pedal in his LP cavity.
I also found a site along time ago where someone put a 7 band eq in thier guitar. So I guess this would be one of those 'what if...' questions. Supposing you could put any boss pedal in you guitar, it has true bypass, on/off, blinking lights, the whole nine yards...

What would you put in your guitar (bass)?

My vote goes to the FZ-2
two fuzz modes, treble/bass eq and a gain mode

sorry, creditted the wrong forum member

I think it might be neat to put a Tremolo pedal into a Telecaster and have the rate knob exposed sort of like B-Bender knob....

I've always wanted to put an SD-1 into a guitar. I'm not sure how you would have to shield it. I wouldn't want the metal casing to increase the weight, but it could be done. Mayhap I'll try and let you know. Great idea for a thread. Cheers!

Actually, it was me that put a CS-2 in a Les Paul. Having done it once, I don't think I'd do it again.

That one was a stealth installation. I swapped trimpots for the normal pots, set them the way I wanted, and hid them inside. I used a push/pull pot for the on/off switch. I did have an indicator LED - I drilled a small hole in the bridge pickup ring for the LED. I used a NICAD 9-volt battery, and put a charger jack in the plastic control cavity plate on the back.

Later on, when I sold the LP and the buyer wanted the CS-2 gone, I just had to replace one pickup ring, the cavity cover, and put the stock tone pot back in.

I wouldnt put anything in mine.

I like the guitar to be pure, and not be a computer passing off as a guitar (not that a pedal in it would make it that). Instead, I would make a wall of pedals, where I could plug into, and all the settings would be right at hand level.

LOL wasn't suggesting anyone to head out and hack up thier guitars and pedals to see if could be done. Just say Boss and your fav g'tar maker got together and came out with a line of of guitars and perfected how to build the two.

I like Jack's idea about the rate/b-bender knob

A clean boost with a parametric EQ would be nice if I had to have something, but I´m so used to pedals that I rather have my guitar stock.

Way back in the 70´s there was a guitar named Electra, or something like that, that was made to take specially built effects into the guitar body. As I remember it was a whole lot of different modular effects like compressor, fuzz etc

Hey Fender recently brought out a guitar with a Roland GK pickup built in. All you had to do was select what guitar sound you wanted and it would similuate that. Would be cool if you could reprogram it on the guitar!

ya im in the "guitar should be pure" category. ive heard of phasers and stuff in there but remember that tastes change after awhile and putting a 12 step phaser in there might be a big mistake when you get out of the reggae phase and want to play death metal

also remember that if its in your guitar, its gonna have to be first in your chain so things like delay and reverb would be kinda hard to do if you use other effects. unless you have some kind of crazy looper.

just out of curiosity, wouldnt the GE-7 kinda be a problem with bumping sliders and such? even so, it would seem to be easier just to kick it on a preset GE-7 when its on the floor than fiddling with sliders on your guitar. no?

i think a dumbed down version of the RC-2 would be good to have in your guitar. i love it, but i hate playing sitting down.

Don't care much for built in effects but how about a Fender Cappuchino?

I'm not sure what I'd want. I have an old Electra MPC with phase shifter and power overdrive modules, but find that I don't use them very often. they're well made guitars though -- an excellent "less" Paul copy -- and worth seeking out IMHO. and I think some of the reissue Danelectros (mid 1990s?) came with built in chorus at the push of a button.

as far as other marriages of guitars and effects, I've seen a picture of James Iha/Smashing Pumpkins with some type of stomp box taped to one of the wings of his Flying V, and Tom Morello/RATM had Ibanez make him a 335-esque guitar with the guts of a Whammy pedal built into it. but the best 'effect' I've ever seen installed on a guitar was Brian Venable/Lucero's Telecaster -- he installed a bottle opener on the front of the guitar. sheer genius!
