Hey guys, I was bored so I thought I'd ask you all what pedals you have (your favourites if you have a lot) and then how much you payed for them (also say new or used, and the currency , $ etc). Its also a great place to brag if you just got a SP-1 for 25 off ebay or something. I'l start, this is a combined list for our band. all were used.: BD-2: 30 BF-2 Jap: 50 CE-2: 60 CE-5: 30 CH-1: 30 DD-5: 40 GE-7: 40 ML-2: 30 MT-2: 40 NS-2: 45 OS-2: 20 RC-20xl: 150 RV-5: 30 SYB-5: 70 TU-2 (x3): 40, 40, 50 XT-2: 50
*edit* picked up an NS-2 today for 40 :)
..And a PH-3 the next day for 35 |

| yeah, the RV-5 and CE-5 were 60 together off Gumtree. the guy also had a CS-3 compressor for 20 but he'd sold that by the time I got there. Anyway both pedals were mint, boxed and the CE-5 was analog too! |

Basically keep an eye on gumtree and ebay, and dont be scared to take risks. my CE-2, for example, there wasn't even a photo up. 60 was my max bid, because I know the cheapest go for around 80+ anyway and I got it. It was mint, boxed but a green taiwan, still cheaper though. Two great tactics: 1. Go on google, type: boss pedals site:gumtree.com - that will search the whole of gumtree in your country for boss pedals. 2. go on ebay, and search: boss "pedals" - it will only look for posts with the plural pedals instead of ignoring the S. that way, you find posts of multiple pedals in a set which ALWAYS go for a lower price (because usually people already have one of the pedals, more often a TU-2 because everyone has one near enough)
Good luck with your bargain hunting! |

I'll share a pedal sniping top top that I've shared before....
Never give away to much information in a question. If a pedal does not state whether it is MIT or MIJ, don't ask 'Was your pedals made in Japan or Taiwan'? A simple internet search later and the seller has all the info they need on the difference between MIJ and MIT pedals. The correct question to ask in this situation would be 'Where was your pedal made?' You should get the same answer, but you haven't given anything away. |

CE-2: 76 DM-2: 77 DM-3: 80 DD-7: 100 (new) CS-2: 50-60 can't really remember. PH-2: 36 SD-1: 30 PSM-5: 40 (with box, manual, power supply etc.) DS-1 : 35 (new)
They are some I can remember. Im glad I managed to get the DM-2 for 77, it was just before they rocketed up in price and the description said it hadn't been tested but it works fine. |

All bought this year.....and all are used..good or great condition. Prices included shipping and PP. Also, put where I got them....thegearpage.com and harmonycentral.com both have pedal/effects "For Sale" sections. Prices are in US dollars.
BF-2 (MIJ, All Black Knobs/Green Label): $45 (ebay) PH1-r (oldest version: the P in PH-1R is located under the S in Phaser): $75 (thegearpage) DD-2 (MIJ): $65 (harmonycentral) RC-2: $120 (harmonycentral) Yeah, know this is no great deal. But, needed pedal and they don't go all that much cheaper.
My strategy is ID what you want and educate yourself of nuances between versions of a pedal so you can spot a real gem. Look often at multiple sites, observe what the ranges of prices typically are and act immediately if you want something. And wait it out if you can until you see the price/model you want. That's the hard part..could be hours...days...weeks or months. But, it will happen.
And one more hint. NEVER post any questions about the pedal you are interested in. ALWAYS PM the seller privately to get the process rolling. Do the entire transaction and negotiation privately. No need to supply more info to other potential buyers and MORE IMPORTANTLY you don't want to bounce the post of the pedal you are interested to the top of the discussion so others will become aware of it straight away!

Beat my price with that one, and I thought mine was cheap!
although to be fair, mines black knobs/black label. dont know how much that affects the price though |

Got my second PS-3 off eBay for AUD 95 last year. It was listed with a BIN, so I guess the seller just hadn't done any research. I found I didn't really need 2 of them and re-sold it for AUD 170
Had the same thing with an EHX POG which I got for a tiny AUD 80... I already have a POG2 which I like better, so I ended up auctioning the POG off on eBay and got AUD 270 for it!
Sometimes I'm impatient and can't be bothered waiting for a good price on something I want so the money I make on these sorts of sales tends to dissapear into other purchases I make... I guess it all balances out. |

Actually, in the US that's about average for this pedal. Usually goes $40-$55 or so. The BF-2 was Boss's 6th largest production run of all it's pedals. The MIJ black-knob is a bit rarer though. The BF-2 overall was in production for over 21 years! Although there were lots of different variations. |
