Hi!

OS-2 is a quite good pedal in stock I think. But is there any good mods to make it even better out there? I mean, the distortion in OS-2 is nearly similar to DS-1, and that one have a lot of good mods. The overdrive in in OS-2 is quite like the SD-2 - wich also have a lot of good mods. So when thinking of it it sounds like it would be possible to make a badass subtle OS-2. But maybe its to complex as it is. I dont know. Any thoughts about it?

Thanks Zerksies!

I have never done this before, but I have changed pots and caps in my guitars and have the gear. So I think that it can be made. But when you write r2 for example, is that the place on the board that is named r2, and is r2 written on the board or do I have to get a chematic or so?
You have wrote that d8 and d4 is led, are there two of them? Im a newbie at this so I need a dummie explanation or a "handbook" step by step or at least a manual I guess. Do you know if there is one out there, or is there someone who make these mods, ex mone allum mods or keeley?

Marshall type tones:
Location Mod value
C28 .22UF AND 1K CONNECTED IN PARALLEL
D8 LED
D3 LED
C27 .047UF
C23 10UF
C18 .47UF

For fun, experiment with these changes:
Location Mod value What it effects
Clipping diodes: Leds *, germaniums, or 1n4001s
Leds will make it a bit fuller, louder, and more bass.
Germaniums will give it more of a tube flavor, 1n4001s will increase
the distortion/overdrive capability.

C27 .22uf/.15UF/.1UF/ FOR BASS GUITAR, MAKE 1UF Adds bass on od side

C16 (experiment with .022 uf,.033 uf, .047uf, .068 uf,.1uf or higher)
Increase value for more mids on dist side

R27 1-22k, or you could install a pot in its place to control
mids lower value for mid increase on dist side

I always did dig the overdrive on this pedal, nice n meaty
Joe Walsh used one ofter a HM-2

I did your mod recently.
the sound is surely fatter and richer; however, less gain than a stock.
is there any way to get more gain with the same tone?

In my opinion, it would be better if I got more gain!!!
I changed OP Amp #2 to 2043DD.
I got little bit more gain.
But... I would like to get more!!!!!

Found the OS2 has more gain than a SD1
but to get more gain out of the OD, reduce r39 to 47k, and c23 to 10uf
this keeps the same frequency corner

the same amount of gain as DS-1 in Distortion side?

ChristoMephisto's Idea that he gave me can make it?

Is it possible to have this mod made the way your pedal finally came up with and then buy it from you?
