Hi everybody.

First post here and just a little introduction.
I've been lurking around this forum for ages. This is probably THE nicest place on the internet. Everyone's so helpful and nice to each other here. I've often searched this forum for help and you've answered so many of my questions along the way.

I bought my first Boss pedal back in 1986/87 (DS-1) and the second a year or two later (MZ-2). Then I stopped playing guitar for about 15 years but have started again. I found this forum and guess what... now I'm hooked on those little colorful stompboxes again! Since february I've been kind of collecting. Here's my (growing) collection sorted by date of production:

HM-2: 03-1984 The only MIJ pedal in my collection... so far
DS-1: 1986/87 Bought as new in the eighties
MZ-2: 01-1988 Bought as new in the eighties
HM-3: 09-1993 The SS I did NOT want! (Someone replaced the plastic screw)
NS-2: 04-2000
SD-1: 11-2001
CS-3: 09-2002
OS-2: 07-2003
MD-2: 02-2005
CH-1: 02-2006
PH-3: 04-2006
BF-3: 12-2006
PS-5: 06-2007
GE-7: 04-2008
AC-2: ?
MT-2: ?
TR-2: ?
OD-2: ?
DD-6: ?
TU-2: ?
XT-2: ?
AW-3: ?
CE-5: Incoming
ML-2: Incoming
DS-2: Incoming
FT-2: Incoming Paid EUR 47 or USD 70

Also I've been monotoring the sales of BOSS pedals on "buy/sell sites" in Denmark for 9 months. The FT-2 Dynamic Filter was the first for sale here and I would like to know whether I've made a bargain or not? The seller says it's in a good condition (no box or manual though).

If I in any way could be helpful with pictures or something regarding my collection please let me know.

Welcome to the forum Missica, and thank you for your kind words regarding this forum.
Nice collection you got there already.

47 euros seems a very good price for an FT-2 in good condition.

And offcourse, every thread is useless without pictures.

Thanks for the welcome Dirk and SP-1

Regarding the FT-2... yes that's what I thought too. Been searching this forum for information on this pedal, but there seems to be only a little info on this one compared to other pedals (did not search too hard though).

I'll try and get some photos of my pedals as soon as possible

Welcome to the forum, fellow Dane

I'm not a regular, but I stop by from time to time just to see what's going on in the land of All Things Boss. Judging from your growing collection, you'll fit right in with some of the folks here.

Jeg er ikke selv den store samler, men der visse pedaler som bare ikke bliver lavet bedre af andre end Boss.

And here's the translation: While I'm not the big collector myself, there are some pedals that just don't come better than those Boss make.

I tend to keep the ones that are useful while I let the other ones go, in order to justify the purchase of other pedals.

The ones I kept: DC-2, DM-2, TW-1, CE-3, FV-100
The ones I let go: PW-2, HM-2, PN-2, DD-20, OC-2, TU-2
The ones I let go back in the eighties: SD-1 (my first ever pedal) and the OD-2. I'm pretty sure the OD-2 would sound good to my ears today; I always kept the Turbo ON back then.

In any case, this forum is indeed the temple of Boss.

Hi missica,

Welcome to the forum from Hungary!
Nice collection you have so far, congrats!

As I have bought my FT-2 for 80EUR (as I remember well) seems 47EUR is rally reasonable price for that! Do not miss it

cheers

See... you guys are the nicest bunch of people on the internet. Thanks everybody.

Iversen: Wow a DC-2. Those seems almost impossible to find in DK. I don't know if I'm a real BOSS collector cause I don't care about silver-screw or long dash... yet .
Hvor er du fra i DK?

ssanyee: I already bought the FT-2 so I won't miss it.

Cheers everyone

Hallo Missica,

Nice growing collection you have there, my guess is that you have two MIJ pedals instead of the one you mentioned...

All MZ-2's are made in Japan and it's in your list!

I bought a FT-2 last month for 100,- mint w/all

Hi Mesjoggah.

Oops... you're absolutely right. It's MIJ.

My DS-1 is not even though it's produced about 2 years earlier. The serial is 033900 but when i put that into the serial decoder it says: "7 digit numbers of type III must consist of a letter followed by 6 digits"

Missica, I'm from Avedre, Hvidovre.

The DC-2 was bought from a guy in Switzerland via eBay. It cost me a little less than 1000 kroner S&H included and this was 3 years ago I think.

I used to own a DC-2 back in the day, the mid eighties, when my board contained only 4 pedals: CS-3, OD-2, DC-2 and DD-2, probably in that order. I sold the whole thing back then, because I had to record a solo in a studio going through a Rockman Sustainor and a Rockman Stereo Chorus. After that I just had to get that Rockman setup. Yes, it really was that good. The sound of Rockman distortion can be found on the OD-20, but neither cut it today. However, the Rockman Stereo Chorus... I'm telling you all, if that thing came as a pedal!

Hi Iversen

I'm assuming by your comment that it was a rackmounted effect..?

I've gone back to using some rack effects alongside my boss pedals as i've found that the sound of some of them and some of the effects in them to be really good and handy because of their pre-programmability and tap tempo function....

my Dynacord Leslie simulator is a rack mounted effect(early 80's analogue) and it's really good especially since i run it in it's super stereo mode, really warm very good sounding effect in both fast and slow speeds i have yet to find any other leslie sim that comes close to it...
