should just go home, or at least, use a different eBay ID for buying and selling, for crying out loud.
any reasonable useful or collectible pedal is always sniped by these turkeys. just take it home boys, take it home. |

You have an effective counter to flippers -- don't pay their upped price; just let them sit on it and allow the market to bring them back where they belong.
Flipping/speculating always hits a ceiling. Inevitably one guy bids the ultimate price, and either they're a happy permanent owner or they get caught holding the bag when they try to sell it higher. Mabye long, long term you'll see prices eventually creep higher due to inflation, etc., but short term profitability is always temporary.
Look at the U.S. real estate markets in Florida and California now. Anyone remember Beanie Babies? Baseball cards? People have gone into bankruptcy thinking they were going to get rich from those.
In the meantime, if you know it's a seller flipping for profit, resist that urge to build your collection at that moment and don't patronize them. As long as you continue to buy from them, you're fueling them.

i REFUSE to buy from the well-known flippers.
just sux to see them come out at the last minute and unnecessarily inlfate the price for someone who really wanted the pedal, and could have gotten it for a "fair" price. BAAAAHHHHHHHHH!
I feel better now! |
