Hey Racer X, I dabble a bit but I use digital gear rather than film. Cheaper for me to pratice taking craps shots using digital!

I used to have a Canon SLR with all sorts of lenses and filters. After a while I just had to admit that everyone else got better pictures than me with much cheaper equipment. The hardest part was admitting to myself that I have no talent whatsoever. I still like taking pictures though. It's just a shame they never come out very good.

I shoot film.. mostly vintage 6x6cm cameras..

This is from my 1955 Rolleiflex, shot this summer at Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany. I've barely scratched the surface of the pile of negative and slide scanning I have to do!

Check out my thread about High Dynamic Range photography. There's some links you may want to check out:

Additionally, I use Photomatix for my HDR:

PS. I do miss old-school 35mm a little bit. I always wanted a medium format camera.

Yes.. it's the same sensibility.

The same part of me that years for film-grain wants noisy old strat pickups and old buffered pedals!

I'll carry it further in saying that I love aged beef and old cheese.

Nice shot with the Rollei there. I used to have a Pentax 67, Mamiya 645, Sinar P (5x4) and all sorts of Pentax 35mm SLRs (manual and auto) with plenty of lenses between them... but after a while I stripped back and now I have 3 bodies and a handful of lenses:

Leica IIIb, Leica M2, Nikon F3. The Nikon has a 50mm f/2 manual lens, and a 28/2.8 auto. I used to have a 35mm shift lens but got rid of it to fund a rangefinder. The Leicas are used with a couple of old Elmar 50/3.5 (one coated, one not), a 50/2 Summitar (?), a collapsible 50/2 Summicron, 35/2.5 (?) Voigtlander, and 50/2 Jupiter-8 (nice bit of glass for cheap).

Here's an old shot from my student days, but the kind of thing I liked best. Most of my stuff is not scanned yet, if it ever will be! I have little time for it these days, and it's one of those things I always say I'll do again "one day".

Very nice!

When I got the Rollei, it was a choice between that or a Leica. I had to go MF because my Bronica is a many-pounded beast and impossible to travel with.

I still want a Leica to fatten up my collection a little! I love that collapsible lens..

My only fear is the genuine lack of film availability which may hit in the next decade or so..
