Hi,

Just wanted to share that I am truly addicted to the Leslie simulation that you can achieve with the CE-5 (analogue version). Level all the way up, Rate all the way up, Depth just a hair or two above minimum, high filter set low, bass filter set high.

Beautiful shimmer...think Cold Shot by SRV. Just thought I'd share settings.

Thanks, I will try it. I really liked that Uni-vibish sound of SRV but apart from PW-10 I never could model it in a nice way with any pedal.

Hi slideman

Nice tip.
I guess there will be a lot more of us, searching for the older analog CE-5's.

Regards Dr. Bob

Just to clarify the filter settings: high filter is set at 10 O'clock and the low filter is set to about 2:30.

I haven't had any experience with the CE-5, only the CE-2 which is a lovely sounding pedal but I would like the ability to blend the effected sound with the dry sound more for a really mild double tracking kind of sound and without using external boxes. This post made me look at the reference information and I am intrigued by the possibilities of the effect level control on the CE-5. Would anyone care to comment on whether this control allows the kind of blending that I am describing?

If you could post a clip that would be great.

A number of us are searching for that sound from something with a small footprint.

My rotosphere is great but small it aint.

Glad you liked it! Surprised me how good it was after I "stumbled" upon it myself. Makes the pedal even more versatile than before.

Hello Slideman and all....

I've searched for this sound for a long time from my boss pedals..tried with the CH-1 and a TR-2 mixed together and eventually gave up and bought a old dynacord cls22 rackmount leslie sim.... great sound but using rack mounted gear in my rig didn't turn out to be very practical........since i got my CE-2 mixing it with the TR-2 i'm getting some decent results with my rig..haven't quite perfected the settings yet but i can get that leslie type fast speed by turning both pedals rate and depth up full..i normally leave the WAVE setting on the TR-2 at 12 O'Clock.......

There is a Behringer pedal, RM600, that is supposed to do Leslie sounds, quite cheap. I havent heard any opinions of it.
The one in PW-10 is not bas at all, that was my most used sound of that pedal before I sold it.

Franzoni,

I have a TR-2 too but never tried them together...always good to have more options. I found that by keeping the depth low, (when the rate is set high), you avoid the "detuned" sound which can sometimes interfere with the nice swirl of the Leslie sound. Try lowering the depth to a lower setting -- you may be surprised by the result.
