| Hey there everyone, I use a pc at home and I really want some sort of recording program to use. Mainly to get my ideas down when I think of them, I don't want a really crap one, I want one that will be worth my while, sorry for being a 'noob' but does anyone have any suggestions, and what do you use ? |

Hi,
there are so many apps out there.
if you don't want to spend serious money but still want a full fledged and capable sequencer - try REAPER http://www.cockos.com/reaper/
the good thing is - it's not a crippled version of a bigger thing you can test it as long as you like and when you decide to buy it it's only 50 bucks for a non comercial version and 200something for a comercial license
others that I like are TRACKTION - which is a cool little app and is easy to use for begginers but still very capable.
cheers, mully |

personally I use Pro Tools 8 LE, Logic 8, (FLStudio when I'm on PC - it's fun but it's a different way of working) and others (mostly for testing purposes though.
Haven't been recording in a while but when I was "Tracktion" was my weapon of choice
here's what can be done with Tracktion:

Hi DeFrag & Guys
Man that Reaper looks very good. Do you use it DeFrag?
If you do, can I ask, what seems to be missing, or some of it's limitations?

I haven't used it yet but its loaded up & ready as its the one I'm GOING to use. I wanted all the functionality of Sonar without the bloated footprint. Reaper supports most plugins. I guess its "technically" not free but its pretty close as its not limited in any way & doesn't expire. |
