well I'm quite busy recently... I'm back in uni getting my master of arts degree.
and I'm still wanting to sell most of my pedals and fear that I'm not welcome here anymore - hehe
her dogtraining is doing fine... could be better but at this time of year most people wanna stay inside. On the other hand she's got more time to spend with mullchen
so how's your life been treating you... hope everything's fine on the spectrum front.
Hi, there are two 6X5's that fit my amp and seem okay.
Hi Mully! Just want to confirm you mean that the amp uses 6X5's? If so, you will *probably* be OK trying them - no guarantees nothing will break. If the old ones have somestrange fault (shorted plates, etc.) you might cause problems.
You should be careful both with rectifier tubes as well as outputs.
The chances are probably slim, but they are still there that a catastrophically bad tube could take out either a power or an output transformer. Probably better to vet the tubes out on a tester first -- a tester won't really tell you how good they'll work at full load, but you can at least spot potentially nasty things such as heater to cathode shorts.
