Why did the owner scratch off the name of the pedal?

Simply stupid...

What other pedal is that exact colour? Can't recall, but if there is one, I'll bet the treadle is off that other pedal, not a VB-2.

Why? Why? Why? Would you deface the casing like that? I can'tunderstand that one bit.

Certainly not worth that amount. I really want a VB-2 but I wouldn't consider this one.

Something odd here - that can't be cosmetic wear - it looks to me to be deliberate.

Did boss have some pedals rebadged in the 80's for the asian market under a different name but basically a boss pedal..? i thought i remember a topic about this a good while back, maybe it's one of these being passed off as a VB-2......

Very strange...considering the rest of the paintwork is alright... musicians do some strange things when their drunk or stoned......another possibility is that it belonged to high profile 'name' some of these guys(not all) will take logos off gear mostly amps or guitars if their not getting some sort of deal off the company.....or maybe the owner was on 'top of the pops' once back in the day...you know what the BBC used to be like about anyone having a logo on display in case it was considered advertising........

sorry guys too many late nights in the taxi lately has me thinking sideways...............

Some players deface their gear because they are not endorsed by the factory and don't want peeps duplicating their sound.

A great invention called "electrical tape" is a much preferred method.
