Hi Ptero I know you like the SI-2, but think how rare a SI-1 will become.
One of the multi effect processors, that I have does a Sitar Emulation. Now if I could just remember which one it was... Hmmmmm ....
I do like the idea of sympathetic resonance, I suppose it's very similar to drones, on a guitar.
Don't forget, that the Sitar has more notes per octave that in western tuning, I might be wrong, but I think it was about 15 - 17 notes per octave; Now that is going to be a bitch to simulate, unless you do it in COSM.
Maybe it was oriental music that has 17 notes per octave ...
Anyway, nice job on the mock up.
Regards Dr. Bob.

Hi Kulten Nice, I just absolutely, love the colour. And is that a white screw or a SS? I might paint my Dyna Comp Clone this colour.
How would you use the RM-2?
I know you do a lot of synth type music, & I have a ring modulator already built into my Pandora PX4D as well as the junked Zoom 606 multi effects I just repaired.
I find it difficult to use, I suppose it's really for experimental music. the other tone in the ring modulator makes the guitar very dissonant, on the 606 it's controllable with the foot pedal, & it makes for some out of this world Sweeps & tones.
I do love the metalic sounds you get from ring Modulators. Seriously, get an old Zoom 606, I believe that, you'll be very impressed. The patch is E3 factory preset, & it's called "Space Contact" If your interested, I could PM email you a sample, just tell me what you'd like me to play or hear.
I guess I'll have to try it out on some of my vintage synths. Did I tell you that I have a Korg Mini700 mono synth, from the early 70's & it;s still working like new, retro woodgrain panels. And I just got my Boss DR-110 back, after 10 plus years on loan, at least the borrower was honest enough to return it. I also have a Casio VZ-8M phase distortion synth rack.
Have you written any new stuff, that we could listen to? Nibla has some nice tracks on his MySpace page.

OK : THESE ARE ALL THE SYB I MADE... MAY BOSS, ONE DAY, BUT I DREAM... _________________
the SYB-6 "BASS SYNTHESIZER" takes the best from the SYB-3 and SYB-5 and go beyond :
- 8 knobs ! - the deep SYB-3 "SAW" waveform (mode 1) with lower octave and LFO modes (modes 2 and 3). - the fat SYB-5 "SQUARE" waveform (mode 4) with lower octave and LFO modes (modes 5 and 6). - vocal sound from the SYB-5 : the genuine PULSE-2 (mode 7) waveform. - two more sounds : DOUBLE PULSE (mode 8) and SINE (mode 9). - mode 10 and 11 : WAVE SHAPE normal/reverse. - LFO RATE effect. - the SYB-3 NOISE effect with a "noise level" knob. - WAH input (with the optionnal Roland EV-5 expression pedal).

The SYB-7 is not like the SYB-3 and the SYB-5, not even like the powerfull SYB-6. The SYB-7 is devoted to the synthetic sounds : if it has no stereo outputs, or EXP input, or filters like other SYB, the graphic controls make it a complete synthesizer : Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release, Frequency, Resonnance, Rate (for LFO effect), and you can choose between the deep and oldschool SYB-3 "SAW" waveform or the punchy and sharp SYB-5 "SQUARE" waveform. No LEVEL knob ? Of course : the SYB-7 follows the input source level, you can control it simply with your instrument.

the SYB-8 "BASS SYNTHESIZER" is another way to play synth bass. The attack level and the decay time depends on your input sound, you just have to adjust Frequency and Resonnance knobs. You'll find also the LFO rate (mode "3" for saw,"6" for square and "9" for pulse), the EV-5 Expression input, and this time the Wave Shape is not a filter for external sound : now you can modulate the SYB synth sound with the Wave Shape (modes 1/2, 4/5, 7/8). And modes 2, 5, 8 are one octav. lower.

For the musicians who love the SYB sound but want to play "free hands" :
- THE 11 SOUND MODES FROM THE BOSS SYB-3
- THE LFO FROM THE SYB-5 WITH 3 WAVEFORMS THAT CAN BE USED AS A SECOND SYNCHRONISED VCO
- THE 16 STEP SEQUENCER FROM THE ROLAND EF-303
THIS IS........ THE BOSS SYB-16 !
You can program a pattern with the graphic sequencer or use it like a standard SYB with an external sound source to trig the synth sound. And if you use the sequencer, you can plug a tempo footswitch into the "Input", or synchronise the BPM with another machine.

If you enter this entrance you will become a bosspedal that are unique. If you're nice you'll become a chorus and if you're sad an EQ with a lot of mid.. |

| Manic depressives might be an RC-2, stutterers maybe a TR-2, heterophobes can be the PS-5, while tin-cans on a string between two upper-floor windows when I was 12... I'm a BF-3! |
