Hey -
I just snagged a 1978 PH-1, and it has the same problem as my 1978 CS-1 (which I rarely use); that being the LED only momentarily comes on when the pedal is depressed.
It does it whether running on battery or ac adapter. And yes I have considered the ACA adapter thing, but that doesn't seem to be it as it behaves the same whether powered by battery or 12V adapter (which is supposed to emulate an ACA adapter), and also the pedal effect is fine.
Soooo . . . given this may be normal for it's (early) design, is there a mod out there to make this thing read ON when it's ON?

Hi superlacks! It's not a problem - the first pedals were designed that way to save the battery.

There is a description about how to change a DS-1 here:

It will be possible to figure out how to do that for your pedals based on the description (it will be different component numbers, but saem circuit).
