If you read down in the article you see where the Hendrix family agreed the deal with Gibson... i agree it's in pretty poor taste as we all know the the only gibsons hendrix played were the flying V and i think a Les Paul as well for a brief time... i saw or read something somewhere a while back that there was massive rows and disagreements in the Hendrix family between the father,jimis brother and i think his half-sister over money and who got to control the estate..this really is a sick attempt to cash in on jimi's fans .... i hope this turkey ends up in the scrapheap where it deserves to be.. and the worst part of the thing was the attempt of his sister to justify it by saying jimi gave guitars away to kids starting out and this is what the package was aimed at.i must of missed the part where Gibson and the Hendrix estate said they would donate part of the profits to helping children from disavantaged backgrounds or donate some of the gear to help them learn music....something like that would be a much better tribute to jimi and his musicial legacy.... |

At least they're Epiphone-style pricing, not full-out Gibson bux. But really, why didn't the Hendrix estate strike a deal with Fender to make a nice Lefty US model tailored to righty players. There was a nice '68 style lefty strat made by Fender Japan - it seemed to be made especially for Righty-conversion (as they didn't make a right-handed version at all) - but I haven't seen one in over 4 years. shame.  |

Jimi's not behind it, but his sister, I think, Janie Hendrix is. I feel that the Hendrix estate/family couldn't get the cut they wanted from Fender, so they went to Gibson.... |

Gibson must be extremely stupid if they think the majority of players don't know that Hendrix and all the players he inspired like SRV played Fender Strats....reckon these will be another flop from gibson.... |

what an abortion of a guitar...this actually made me angry...his sister should be incarcerated/executed...along w/ courtney love for letting kurt's image be used in the new rockband game...nothing is sacred...
don't get me wrong, i'm no hendrix/nirvana fanboy by any means but this is just wrong...not to say that gibson isn't at fault either, cause they definitely are also...
