Only available in Japanese so far.
No idea whether it's being translated or not but I sure hope it will be.

Wow !

Is this an update to the original Boss book? I really, really hope they release an English language version!

It looks like it comes with a DVD too - wonder what's on it?

I hope they've managed to correct the errors from the original Book.

I think it's less than 2 weeks ago I predicted that there wouldn't be an update for another 20 years. My predictions are

Here's some more pics

I've sent an e-mail to Hal Leonard who published the first edition and asked if they will publish the new one too.

Very cool! It looks like it's an improved version of the first book then with more comparisons of pedals. It's also got the new twin pedal units in there too.

I'm really excited about the DVD - hope they've got video demos of all the pedals on there - that would be awesome.

I wonder if they've caught up with 'Mr M.' again and if he's got even more pedals now!

Awesome! It is almost better than a new pedal release. Mr. M probably owns all but a handful of SP-1s now.

I got a reply from Hal Leonard:

quote:

At this time there is nothing in our system about the release of a second edition.

I gave them the link to the book on the original publishers website (shinko-music.co.jp) but they didn't seem too interested

DAMN! I've been putting off getting the original Boss Book for ages because I assumed a new version would grace us soon enough. It seems unlikely that someone would make a fake second one?
EDIT:
I cleaved all the text off that site into babelfish and got:
5 years... the BOSS make effector - the entire #12390; was condensed from the previous production, the book ' boss book ' of the effector - maniac drivelling raising, power, dressing up anew appearance! This time not only the BOSS compact & the effector -, successive generations the multiple effector - and until the up-to-date twin pedal series concerning above the total 140 type perfection complete gathering! As for the detailed specifications data regarding each type of course, the production anecdote by the development person in charge, the special edition plan which such as thoroughness comparison of the BOSS distortion type compact all the 21 types does not accumulate and the #12467;#12524;#12463;#12479;#12540;#12474; guide who can look through specification change piles up in the effector - user and it is Sawayama! Furthermore, you record also the sample sound collection of the same effective sound make-up guide and the highest peak multiple "GT-8" of the current compact all type to special DVD of the supplement! Just, this it is 1 volume of permanence retention!
