Ok.ok, it's not a compact pedal, it's the very last big boxer but I just aquired this and it's great. Lovely warm flanging not as in yr face as the BF-2 and chock full of great ICs BBDs (recticon 1094) etc. Woah ..this is really lovely- bit of a volume drop when engaged and a tad noisey but I forgive it for it's lush sounds and retro-ness. Well worth checking out. Only negative... non original 50 KB pot. Anyone got one?
Yes I've got a BF-1 too and I concur that they do sound great.
When I first got it, I thought it sounded terrible, then I realised I was using the wrong power supply (needs 12v unreg). Once I'd sorted this, I was amazed with how rich this one sounds.
Like you say, it's more subtle than the BF-2 but it sounds a lot warmer and less ' metallic'. I've noticed that the price of these seems to be creeping up slowly, so maybe they're being recognised as a Flange classic! I'd take this over the BF-2 anytime.
