Where does this guy get all his pedals!?!?!?
A recent auction...
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MEGA-RARE-BOSS-PHASER-PH-1R-MIJ-S-N-0100-m2053_W0QQitemZ140089718667QQihZ004
This one's a beauty! He's always got a lot on offer. Not just BOSS either.
He has some of the most exquisite rare pedals all the time. (although they're all "MEGA-RARE" )
Sometimes reasonably priced, sometimes a little on the expensive. Never a real bargain though.
Although, I did score a MIJ DS-1 nearly mint in mint-ish box for US$69.
Arrived within 3 days too!
Love to know where he sources them all from! |

Hi Guys He has a good collection of other stuff as well. I check out his Yamaha pedals every so often. I have been trying to get a (Effector) Yamaha Compressor CO-01, from the really early Pre-Boss pedals range.

Plus some great Maxon and Ibanez stuff too!
I tried to ask him where he gets it all from when I bought the DS-1 but the language barrier made it really hard. I don't think he really got what I was trying to ask.
Still a mystery to me.
But he was a nice seller to deal with from my experince regardless. |

He just should STOP labelling every auction "MEGA RARE !!". For a MD-2, it's not really serious... |

Maybe "MEGA RARE !!" is Asian for "Not Used much" or "Good Condition"
Have you ever clicked on Translate in a Google search, for a Japanese web page & then TRIED to read it.....

I've bought a few pedals from him - he's an good shipper, although seems to always leave dead batteries in the pedals, and one leaked on me once, though thankfully it didn't ruin the pedal.
Anyway, he just buys the pedals from stores in Japan then inflates the price by about 300% and tries to sell it internationally on ebay. There is a US expat forumite over at HCFX who lives in Sth Korea and heads over to Japan ever couple of month searching for gear, and his testimonials indicate that most vintage gear is less valued in Japan than in the US (Eg Pearl pedals for $20 etc), so Kaz would be making a tidy profit on what he's selling.
I think the best thing I've ever seen him list was a MIB CE-1. I'd never even seen a CE-1 box before (it's orange). |

And it looks like this.

Not mine, I nicked the picture of an auction on Yahoo Japan a while back. |

That Yamaha pedal reminds me of Pearl pedals, the stomp button is similar, though there are differences.
I'm awaiting a pedal from Kaz, he gave me a tracking# within hours of me buying the pedal a few days back, I'm looking forward to receiving the pedal and trying it out.
I'm surprised to hear pedals are cheaper in Japan, maybe because they are in plentiful supply having been produced there. It's certainly not the case for items that were imported into Japan, for instance a collectable US bike frame might cost 2 or 3 times as much there as it does here.

Korg pedals are also nearly identical. They look a little different on top but the back, battery cavity and even serial number stickers are identical to the Yamaha pedals. Wouldn't surprise me if they all came from the same factory. |

The only logical answer I can think of is that he has a DeLorean with a Flex Capacitor, and he travels back in time to get these pedals.... |

Hi Vim That would be great, if you would find out what he is asking for it. Please check it has the battery cover & a thumb screw, as most are missing, because you have to remve them to use them on Yamaha's Custom pedal board.
Let me know if you have PayPal or something, not to mention approx postage costs.
PS - see if he will let you take a picture, if you have a digital camera, or one one your phone.
