Hello
Does anybody know if the AC-3 will sound good with bass? I really like the acoustic bass sound but can't afford one, so a stompbox would be the thing. |

^ good idea, never thought of running that thru a bass!
also on same topic (kinda!) does anybody run amps in stereo with an AC-3 in one line to fill out the guitar sound? |

| Since the AC-3 is using COSM modelling to make the sound more an acoustic guitar, I doubt it will sound like an acoustic bass. I haven't tried it so I might be completely wrong but I suspect you might have more luck with an AC-2. |

Hi, I started a thread with the same idea some time ago, tried it, without success I'm afraid - but I do know the AC-3 is a strange beast and behaves very differently with different inputs. - I upgraded the neck pick-up in my Squier telecaster and although it didn't sound particularly different, it's changed the AC-3 from 'practically useless' to 'extremely convincing' - so I'd give it a try if you get a chance. |

| I tried an AC-2 with bass and it was good, but it didn't sound "woody" the matter what I did. I don't have an AC-3, but you should try it yourself, because sound it so subjective. What I hate you may love and vice verse. May the force be with you. |

| The frequencies will be off but it may sound interesting nonetheless. |

Hello
I tried the AC-3 today. It sounded like i thought. No low end came through it and it did not sound like an acoustic bass (the ones that look like an acoustic guitar, not an upright bass). So my opinion is that it does not work with a bass. The sound was like a bass without bass. |

'cause of this topic I tried my AC-2 as a booster for my emg 707 equiped 7 string, before a distortion pedal, and I like it very much gives me a nice round low end.
Anyone else tried this ? Maybe the AC-2 is better sounding for a bassguitar also. Don't know.
