OK -- I know there are a few of you who frequent this forum, and I'm just trying to get oriented toward building a Left-Handed Tele clone for a friend.
So I've got to wrap my head around the fact that I need LH Pickups, LH Pots, and what else?? Besides the obvious Body and Neck requirement.
Anyone know if there are good sources for lefty guitar electronics, or am I just imagining there's a difference, and a pot is a pot...
Thanks in advance

And by the way, don't anyone try and sell me that Left-Handed Wire.
I already bought a few spools in different colors. |

Yes you have a lefty here
http://www.allparts.com/Left-handed-Parts-s/342.htm
good for pots, as for pickups in a tele they are always flat pole pieces or non adjustable. So any pickup will do. But if you are using a strat or a guitar with staggared pole pieces in theory you can go with a lefty pickup, but good luck finding one. i have always put right handed ones in on this and have never heard a diffrence in tone. All i have to say is hendrix played a rightly with flipped strings so you kinda get the mojo working with you on that.i don't think i know of anybody that does not like the hendrix tone.Hit me up with a PM if you got more questions. i am more then glad to help |

| There are some pickups where each individual pole piece is for a specific string although the majority of pickups the orientation shouldn't matter. Could somebody explain the left handed pot to me? I mean if you wire it the other way around so that what goes on the left lug goes on the right and vice versa it should work perfectly shouldn't it? |

Nosi0 seems to have something there with the pots... but I guess I'd still need lefty knobs.
Maybe someone wants to trade a few lefty knobs for some lengths of Left-Handed Wire? |

Hey Disco Stu I'll trade you my last (2) spray pack cans of striped paint. For (10) feet of your Left-Handed Wire.
To sweeten the deal even more, I'll also give you my useless to me Left-Handed Screw Driver. As I'm a Righty.
Regards Dr. Bob |

Thanks Dr. Bob !!
The paint thing sounds good, but I'll have to compensate for the stripe orientation, as spray cans from your hemisphere are 180 degrees opposite to the north American version.
Bear in mind that, due to the same hemispheric anomalies (known as the Polar Drain-Spin Effect), our left-handed wire might be quite similar to your righty stuff. You'd have to measure the helical flux tangents to be sure. |
