| I'm looking to pick up a CR-68 or something similar, but am having trouble finding them at a reasonable price. What are some places I can look aside from eBay to pick up one of these or even a Wurlitzer version? |

Try Craigslist. You would be amazed what's on Craigslist. Why just yesterday two junkies in Vancouver listed a seven day old baby. Their own HUMAN baby! The Police were alerted and the baby is in government care. |

68s are usually quite cheap, 78s are the sought after ones as they're more flexible. i have a CR-78 and no you can't have it, i love it. However, what's your intended use for this? Do you like cheesy sounds or do you need a box for live work? If you're just going to use it in the studio then check out some of these samples:

The CR-78 is being done soon, but in the meantime you could get a TR-77 and ELI CR-7030 sample set. |

I plan to run it through my pedal board and do some recordings with it. I originally started searching for just any old wurlitzer, univox, or other brand rhythm machine with those old samba, rhumba, "teen", rock beats, etc... because I really like that canned beat and the sounds they generate. The more I searched, the more roland stuff kept turning up.
I don't want to really drop much money, because I don't need it. So if it comes down to getting something super simple that I can at least control the bpms on. |

| Well if you want to experiment cheaply try the samples from the link i gave, they're all Rex files so you can change the tempo on them and all combinations of cheesy beats are sampled. They're even sampled at different tempi to capture the nuances those machines had at different speeds. |
