Hey, hi there! I want to have a chorus pedal again and of course, I want a Boss pedal! So, whatīs the best chorus? CE-2? CE-3? Should I sell my BF-2 to get a chorus? BF-2 "works as a chorus", but of course, itīs not the same thing.
Tk u guys!

I like the CE-3 best out of the ones you listed. Your best bet for the most sounds out of one pedal would be the CE-5. I don't like the CH-1 and the CE-2 is fine for more mellow chorus to me. Like most people will say, it is all personal preference when it comes to sound.

Of the traditional choruses I like CE-2 the most, but for a different kind of mood try DC-2 or DC-3. I like the DCīs a lot!

for nice slow chordwork i recomend the CE-2. it sounds beautiful. for other stuff like picking i recomend the CH-1 and it can also be used in stereo.

The CE1!

I know it's not a compact pedal, but I've got a CE1 and a CE3, and the CE1 is by far superior, this chorus is the most subtle one I've ever heard, and in stereo with an acoustic guitar it's a dream...
And I've not tried the CE2 yet...

I love my CE-2 but for a variety of rich sounds I would also consider a CE-20 (but it's not a compact)

i love my CE-2 but i have to say it's not the most versatile chorus out there. i'd imagine the DC-3 would have more tonal options available.

I thought I already chimed in on this, but CE-2 is my vote. The built-in Chorus on my JC-120 (which is pretty much a CE-1) is pretty nice as well.

I waited. Then I waited even more. Finally I had given up and was to going to move on to another make of chorus. Then it happened. I got to work and it hit that an auction was ending that day. Turns out when I got on ebay, the auction was ending in 30 seconds...and finally I won an auction for a silver screw CE 2 in near mint condition.

Never ever will this pedal leave my possession. Soft, smooth, organic, analog...perfect.

My friend picked up a CE-2 about 2 years ago from our local music shop, I wasn't aware of it's value until I came to this forum, it's a silver screw, and he got it for about Ģ20 in a sale.

Well, I want to try a CE-2 and I can do that at a music store here. But that pedal is very expensive cuz someone let that pedal to be selled at that storeī. I donīt think that people will buy that pedal cuz the pedal look likes a trash, itīs not in good condition! How can someone do that to a Boss pedal? Is he a Bossīs enemy? LOL!

So, I donīt have my BF-2 anymore and got the CE-3. But Iīll try CE-2 tioday if I have time. In case I like CE-2, I will keep my CE-3 and then tarde him by CE-2 if they get some in a good condition and with an honest price too, I mean, not expensive but not so cheap.

Okay let us go then, I have seen people who mentioned the CE-1, not a compact pedal but yep, great chorus, now tom comes up with Small Clone, well let me suggest this one: Electro Harmonix Clone Theory.
Why? Because you get the chorus of the CE-1 [read CE-2 really] plus a great vibrato and on top of that a very usuable flanger [Some people do not like this flange from Electro Harmonix, because they think it is weak compared to the Electric Mistress Flange, well I think the flange is very usuable and fits the bill really as all three effects are delay-modulation sounds.

Now you may need a bit of luck to get this one as it is old and no longer made, I guess its legend now lives on in the Small clone and the Memory Man.

When you happen to have a Clone Theory, do not use it completely on its own, as it sounds rather weak, try to use it with a CS-1, LS-2 [for stereo-option and extra boost] and the EH-2, DD-2 and RV-2 at the end of your signal. The result? A very spacious sound which is a la Andy Summers [did he really use a DC-2---or the Rack Version of this pedal??? if he did, then there are plenty of other options to get that sound as well!!

I tried CE-2 and itīs better. My impressions are that in case you donīt get the CE-2 you can use CE-3. CE-3 sounds kind of metalic but a good solution is to use the B output EVEN you are not using it in stereo mode, set the stereo mode to MONO (to the left side), set the Rate 2 oīclock and Depth to 1 oīclock.

I will continue using my CE-3 till I get the CE-2, but it seems that CE-2b is the same pedal as CE-2. People said that in order to get the CE-2, the CE-2B "volume" must be on the maxim level. This is what the legend says... Iīll try CE-2B on Monday.
