55mA leaving you 145mA after you plug in a psa adapter. 55, wow what a power hog. Up there with delays and mz-2 When a jack is in the input, its always on, its engaged when the led is on. |

From the TU-2 manual; Current Draw ............. 55 mA (Max.) * Expected battery life under continuous use: Carbon: 1.5 hours (When the tuner is continuously on) 6 hours (When the tuner is on for one minute and off for three minutes) Alkaline: 6 hours (When the tuner is continuously on) These figures will vary depending on the actual conditions of use.
This means to me that the current draw is is higher when the tuner is engaged.What I want to know is what is the current draw when the tuner is not engaged, as you put it, and in bypass mode.

Ohhh, ok now I see what you mean, never noticed that see what it measures at the dc jack when engaged on bypass or maybe someone knows the math, paging Dr. Bob, Dr. Bob... |

| I don't have a milliameter at home and I just thought someone knew. I did some changes in the power circuit of my board last night (see my rant on the dyna drive thread I posted) and it's no longer an issue for me but I still would like to know. |

According to measurements people have sent me for my "power list", the TU-2 only draws 6mA when it's turned off. When on (but not tuning) the current draw rises to 10mA, and when tuning it tops out at 35mA.
I haven't measured this myself, though, so...

it's not a digital effect so i would imagine that draw is minimal on the pedal either on or off ....check it out at cioks website they have all the power draws for a lot of boss and other pedals... ..i would post the address but i tried and the link wouldn't work..... .........  |

yeah that makes sense stinkfoot, it must draw quite a bit just to fire all of the LED's when tuning. thanks for the info. I think that a psa would stand some overload if you quick with your tuning check,and if it's intonation or new strings or something then it's no problem to unplug a couple of pedals. I have a BCB-6 setup,and the draw of some digital pedals starts to push the 200ma threshold a bit. |

thats a good site Franzoni, but unfortunatly it just shows the boss spec for the TU-2,It's interesting that most of the measured values are less than the Boss spec. this is the link to the page of specs,I hope it works
