These are good. Inexpensive, great sound, versatile, light weight and dependable.

I beg to differ on those Carvins.
With my old band we used to rehearse at this place that also distributed Carvin products, and thus in the rehearsal space we could make use of several Carvin guitar and bass amps.
Throughout the years we've played with Legacy's, Redline and BX500 bass models and some crappy solid state guitar amps.

None of 'em were really up to snuff, at first they were, but after some time of use with several bands they start to deteriorate rather quickly.
We could never get a good sound out of it, being used to our own Marshall amps.
Plus, there was always something not working, crackling, blowing up, etc.
I once blew a tweeter out of a bass cab.

So, sorry about my rant but I'd stay the hell away from it, and let Steve Vai play 'em.

i would second avoiding Carvin unless you get an absolute steal on them.

i find their heads to be adequate but not stellar (usually a good value for the money when you find them used), but their cabs are downright awful imo. structurally they're solid, but poorly designed for sound. they just don't push/cut well and then you crank your amp louder to make up for it only to have your 50 watt head blow out 2 speakers in a 400 watt cab.
