I just got this PH-3 in the door, bought it used. It seems to work normally for about 2-3 minutes before it craps out, or if it is off it might turn itself on. At first it turns itself on but it can be turned off but this doesn't last long as after the frist time it won't be turned off. It looks like it is cued to turn on by a strong attack or heavy note from the guitar. So, when you hit the note and the PH-3 reacts, it will just turn on and make no sounds or sometimes it sounds almost like a siren and will stay on with the switch helpless to turn it off and only unplugging it will do. At first, I read through the forum and searched but only found a little, and cleaned the input jacks with some deoxit. This must be more internal and i don't think the problem is the flipflop circuit. Does anyone know what could be up and if this thing is worth a repair? Thanks

What power source does your PH-3 run on?
You should either be using a newer PSA adaptor or just a good old 9 volts battery.

I had something similar with a new DD-3 that acted real crazy on an old ACA adaptor, it was allright for a minute playing and then the effect just went out.

My friend had a problem with the unknown "siren" sound. He was running it on an AC adapter but left an old battery inside, he asked to fix it so I pulled out the battery and the problem was solved. Easiest repair job I've ever done.

I'm running it off of a regular old 9 volt battery but a boss adapter is on the way to see if maybe that power source helps curb the problem.
