My son and I have jammed strange music for some years, mostly a lot of looping things (type Fripp & Eno). Some of it has been recorded. This summer my son put together some of it for an album of sort and sent it to some blog for psychedelic music, to my big surprise a lot of people liked it and the site has had over 500 downloads of it. It has even been on airplay in the USA, that is even stranger. If you want to listen to it you can download it here, its a little bulky to do it, you have to copy a link before the comments:
http://prognotfrog.blogspot.com/2007/07/pogonophobia-father-son-and-holy-planet.html
I really like to play this kind of music, but I understand if people have trouble listen to it. My son plays bass, flute, guitar, keyboards, I play guitar. The name Pogonophobia my son came up with, it means fear of beards

Goran can you send me a mp3 of a song so I can put it on my bossconaisseur homepage, that's easier for people to listen to it, or you can make an account yourself or a myspace bandpage. |

It was the page I used to put the soundsamples on for the competition I started few months ago, due to lack of competitors I stopped the competition. But I guess we can use that page to put some sound samples on. Like I'm very curious how your 5 paralel ce-2's sound Send me an mp3 an I put it on that site, so everyone can listen. |

Very nice work Goran.
Might you tell us more about the project such as recording gear involved & your experience producing & having it mastered? |

Hi Goran & Son
I like it
Boy, you really covered some ground & sound scape's on that album. I like the drones & all the ear candy that you peppered through all the tracks. Very peaceful -- and thought inspiring. Send my congratulation to you son as well.
How & what did you record it on, analog tape or on a PC? I'm sure we would all be interested, in knowing how you produced it.
Not to mention the 500 Plus downloads.
Keep up the good work.
I have a Soundscape, I did about 3 years ago, I might send it to you in a PM, but it is more a soundscape than a musical piece.
Regards Dr. Bob....

Well, producing and mastering Most of the songs are really jams, no production, just played what came up in our minds. Using a small Fostex 8 track digital recorder. We recorded with microphones for the flute, voices and acoustic guitars. Guitars, bass and keyboard were all lined into the recorder via a Roland Micro Cube and a Vox DA-5. Lots of Boss pedals used, primarily DD-20. Guitars used: mostly Fender Strats, teles and P-bass, Washburn acoustic on some song Line6 Variax 500. The ping-ponged songs also started as jams, then we added more things. The female voice is my wife, not me... Nothing of it was of course intended to the public ears, who likes this kind of noises anyway..., just some kind of diary for ourselves. What you hear on the whole album is put together by my son, Bax, he has edited it, putting some strange sounds here and there, compiled it and released it (I would certainly not have done that). So for the whole project hes the producer. As so many people liked it, to my great surprise, Bax is planning to release some older material together with our last jam (that one is pure Fripp-looping).
Everything, recording, mixing and mastering was done on the Fostex and we didnt care if guitars hummed, tempo shifted or sore notes etc. And thanks for your support!

Youre kidding... but thanks anyway. Me and my son is not playing very much since hes got himself a girlfriend, musics worst enemy... But we had a nice jam with my best friend and his son a couple of months ago, an extended Pogonophobia. Bax played an old Hammond, with a biiiig Leslie. There have also been some jams with me and Bax that have been recorded, some really nice stuff. |

I have this CD in my car, have been listening to it on and off for a few months. Somehow it always sounds right when driving on cold, foggy days |
