The guitarist of one of the bands I'm in always uses an Ibanez DCL-10 chorus to split to 2 amps in stereo.
He only uses it as a very light chorus, so he leaves it on top of one of his amps and never bothers to turn it off. It sounds fine both clean and with distortion.

Since it is an old Japanese 80's pedal, his one stopped working the other day so he asked me if I couldn't find a replacement for it.
I found exactly the same one here in Holland for a decent price so I bought it immediately and received it yesterday.

In stereo it probably sounds a bit wider, cause in mono it's a fairly light sounding chorus, for comparison, my CE-2b sounds a lot deeper.
It's still a very nice sounding chorus with both guitar and bass, and it works equally well in front of the amp or in the FX loop.

Nice thing about it, is that it has a delay control, so you can basically set it anywhere from flanger through chorus to vibrato sounds.

Nice one.... i have the CH-1 on the end of my 'board again to split to stereo as well, something very addictive about the sound of a stereo chorus(i turn mine off now and again thats why it's on the board...) plus the fact that it gives you a nice buffered even split to two amps without any phasing/earth loop problems....at least my CH-1 does....i throw the CE-2 on top of the CH-1 for real deep stereo chorus sounds sort of a tri-stereo chorus.... i like the sound of the Ibanez that it can double as a flanger/vibrato.... whats it like compared to any leslie sims you might of heard...?or clips or the famous arion stereo chorus that Dr Bob talks about...?? possibly a 'sleeper' pedal we all should be watching out for....

I Dirk

I removed your accidental double post.
Happened to me this morning as well.

And very nice Ibanez DCL-10 chorus.
What is going to happen to your friends dead one?
I would be keen to make an offer for it, as I don't have the DCL-10 yet.

Regards Dr. Bob

I double posted this? I wasn't even aware of that.
Anyway, he talked about keeping it for parts since it's an
integral part of his sound. That's why I went looking for one of these instead of a different stereo chorus, with this one at least we know it sounds good with both clean and crunch sounds, which can't be said of other choruses.
Maybe we can fix the other so we have a spare around.

A creepy thought just came up, what if I just changed the future by telling everyone how good this pedal really is, having people chase 'em over the internet and eBay, thus upping the prices to ridiculous hights again. Let's face it, this is how these things happen and why people pay big money for someone else's junk which should be worth nothing cause it's allready been paid for
Oh well, we'll see There's no fate but what we make.

Strange you should mention this.
Laurie & I speak about this quite often, & I'm pretty sure a few other members here,
think about the same sort of things.

I watched the prices of XT-2's, on US Evilbay skyrocket over a few months.
Was it coincidental, that we were running a few discussions about the XT-2 here on the forum at the same time?

Prices of the XT-2 here in OZ were still in the low $50'sAU.
Or is it a sleeper pedal?

They were so cheap here,I purchased 2 of them in boxes, one with box & man.
It's a great pedal, that was mis-marketed by Boss's marketing department.

On extreme settings, it can sound like a piece of
But if you spend time with it, & use subtle settings, it's one of my fav. dirt pedals.

So back t the point, I really don't know the answer-s to this one.

I do think it's a great discussion topic.

Regards Dr. Bob

If these ibanez pedals start going up in price you know you and laurie might be on to something.....i think people are starting to realize now the stuff coming out of japan in the 80's was pretty good and not to offend any of our U.S. friends but a lot of the anti jap rhetoric was coming from the likes of Gibson and Fender and also the american auto industry that were probably frightened at the quality of some of this stuff and how cheap it was to manufacture and sell to joe public.....i have an original yamaha SG 2000s that is as good as any Gibson Les Paul and a lot better than some i've played from the mid 70's through to the mid 90's..... we all know the analogue stuff is great especially in modulation effects....they have a great warm sound that IMHO digital hasn't quite perfected yet......

on a slightly seperate note i saw a 70's strat for sale for a 1000 in a guitar shop in england being marketed as 'vintage'..i know we avoided 70's strats like the plague 'cause it was so hard to find a good one, most were complete junk..the teles were ok because they escaped fairly unchanged from their original design but be careful of 70's strats and Les Pauls....

I just played the guitar.. does that mean that I stole tone from the future because I've used up the electons someone else could have played with?

Or due to the conservation of energy principle, did I only BORROW the electrons!?

Hmm.. I did convert a few into heat though so.. I just blew my own mind!

Hey DeFrag

I have a box of:
Never used, primordial electrons, from parts of a "fempto second" after the Really Big Bang.
(Not the one, when my amp blew some caps)

I got them of a guy on evilbay, he promised & guaranteed that they were the "real deal".
He even sent me a certificate of authenticity, so that there was no doubt.

I would be happy to send half of them to you, if you could supply me with another "magnetic containment box", to ship them in.

With all your MOOG-Fogger gear; And being snowed-in / House bound, for the past 10 or more days.
I can't imagine, what you might come up with.

Oh yeah, all for free of course, just pay for the postage.

Regards Dr. Bob

I have a CSL stereo chorus and the DFL digital flanger from the Ibanez master series and they are both great pedals. I'd like to get my hands on one of these digital chorus' though! I'm always trawling ebay for old Ibanez pedals, and boss of course!
