I'm not sure if it's the advent of the FZ-5 or not but the value of the FZ series seems to be rising at the moment. Do an ebay complete items search and you see this huge spike in price about a week ago. 4 FZ-2s sold between 21 and 27 of Jan, not one above $54, then from the 29 of Jan each FZ-2 but one has sold for over $100. The FZ-3 was hovering at around $50-60 in mid January, then after the 27th a unit without box or manual secured $83. I managed to locate a NOS unit from an online store for $80 which should arrive any day now. Maybe it would be best to wait until the FZ-5 is released, is probably hated, and people lose interest in the FZs and you can get FZ-2s for $55 again.
Same thing happened to an extent with the LM-2. I picked one up NMIB unit unchallanged for $50 on the 21st. One sold on the 31st for $93 from a seller with about half the feedback. Did American's get their tax return last week or something?
Thanks for the info.. I've actually just bought a FZ-3 for approx. 61$ - without box and manual though. The seller wanted more but i made a bid and he accepted. A fair prize I think. Also a good prize on you NOS FZ-3 |

Been looking for some nice specimens of the FZ-series for some time now. Earlier this week I found and bought a mint condition FZ-3 with box and manual, so I guess my latest quest now is to find a FZ-2 in the same condition.
These are future rarities for sure... |

I've seen quite a few MIB FZ-3s over the years. Actually I'd say a lot of the FZ-3s you see include box and manual. There's one on Australian ebay right now (which is a bit of a kick in the nuts after my own NOS FZ-3 find went awry). I've seen many less FZ-2's MIB. I've just come off a $160 boutique ge tonebender and to my ears the FZ-3 is a great fuzz. It's a bit tame, has perhaps slightly less character, but this makes it more easily integrated into today's "popular" music. There's always the FZ-2 if you want something crazier, (which seems to be the chief complaint - I've read its 'lacking balls' seemingly a dozen times). The FZ-3 also has a much more consistent response to the guitar volume than the tonebender did.

Hi there! I am looking for a good deal on a DS-1 for the sole purpose of having it modded by stinkfoot. And then, there are the usual suspects: I would not say no to back ups for my PQ-4 and DM-2. |

The FZ-2 at the top of my list. Bad news the release of the new FZ-5, as RRV-10 said, they seems to raise in their prices. OD-2r and the DS-2 would be nice, just for have the turbo pair. I still hope to find an excellent bargain in a forgotten-by-God music store with some NOS. |

A FZ-2 sold on Oz ebay last night for US$50, although one knob clearly wasn't original, so there may be a few that will slip past so long as you're not too demanding. The fact that the seller had 0 feedback and did not accept paypal may also have contributed to the low price. |

Hey Stratosphere, i've got a MINT in box with manual EH-2, i was planning on keeping it but i'd always be happy trading it for "the right price". let me know if you want to trade and what you have for it. |

Well, I think I am. I always look for pedals like this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSS-FZ-2-Hyper-Fuzz-Distortion-Pedal-NEW-in-the-box_W0QQitemZ160079369395QQihZ006QQcategoryZ64417QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Maybe because I'm careful with my pedals and conserve the box & manual. I don't like the "dropped through the car's window" style.
Too bad not everyone values condition. Case in point: I ebay messaged a seller yesterday who had listed a DS-1 with box, and the box had white ends/coloured sides so thought it might be MIJ. I asked whether there were any chips in the paint and if I could have the serial number so to determine its age. His response, "Who cares, and no". Too bad ebay doesn't have a 'seller ignore list' |
