any suggestions? or even better, is there somewhere i can find a bottom plate, sans rubber? i just don't like the idea of sticking velcro on the back of a nice pedal, getting stickies all over the rubber and sticker, making it look... used, ya know? especially if i want to sell some of them some day.

i think i might've seen a thread on this topic once before, so i hope i'm not bringing up old news. thanks for any help you can give!

Hi

I am fairly sure Roland in the UK sell blank (no rubber or labels)plates for Boss pedals. Perhaps they do this worldwide, it might be worth making some enquiries to Roland.

this is how i do it. i stick velcro to the rubber only using bison kit. which sticks really well but when you want to take it of you can easily take it off making the pedal look as good as new.

Normally i have 2 bits of velcro at the top aswell this one must have been half way through the proccess.

Depending on which type of board you want to fix your pedals to, I think you get small brackets that fit under the four corner screws, and then attach to the board with 4 more screws....

I bought some of these off ebay, which work well, however you would have to drill the pedalboard pro (if its metal) first, but they work great with a case that has a wooden base. My case had a velcro covered wooden board, but the velcro didn't work to well which is why I changed to the mounting washers. I am sure the guy does some sort of brackets too.

Thats what dasbeef was talking about aswell except you attach it to another plate underneath.

while they look great and would work well with wood, i don't think these brackets are practical on a pedaltrain. for one i'd have to go out and buy machine screws and bolts anyway. and on certain rails of the board i'd have to go thru two layers of metal and make sure they're lined up perfectly.

i looked on roland's site (both US and UK) and couldn't find the plates scarymonsta mentioned, emailing roland now...

thanks for your suggestions!

Here's an idea that is probably a bit mad - use the brackets with cable ties or a couple of cable ties joined together - best pic I could come up with to explain.

thats actually quite a good idea, better than running cable ties all over the pedal. it looks cool on some boards but it would be a waste of a pedal train.

It is actually pretty cool. I might as well give it a try.

Being a devoted mountain biker I realized that I'm gonna use an old bicycle chain and a chain breaker. Why buy the brackets when you can have them free. Two hundred brackets out of one chain.

If they really fit, which I'm gonna find out tomorrow, it will be a nice solution.

I use Velcro and it works great..the odd time if someone throws my 'board into the back of the van a bit too hard one or two might come a bit loose but mostly everything is fine.....i like miky's idea(i've built bicycles from scratch when i was younger)with getting a chain breaker and a piece of bicycle chain and i can't see why it wouldn't work either..wish i had thought of it many years ago before i started with the velcro and the superglue.......
