Hello, I recently purchased a CE-2 MIJ (or at least it was advertised as such). It came with the box which has the "5 Year Warranty" sticker on it. The Label on the bottom is Black and says Made in Japan. The serial number in the Battery compartment has been peeled off. The stamped numbers in the battery compartment are T01K or something like that. Is this really MIJ?
Thanks |

Roger,
Take a look at the posting called "Date this CE-2 board" and see if that info helps you.
Grace and peace,
Steve

Hey Steve, OK here's what I found out when comparing my CE-2 with the pictures and Info posted. I do have the old style POTS with the set screws. Also there is a big "Y" printed on the PCB like one of your MIJ's. It appears to have the Translucent Green (Caps?). One thing I noticed when comparing some of my other MIJ and MIT pedals is that the Battery connectors on the MIJ's are large and Gray and on the MIT's they are smaller and Black? Does this mean anything regarding where it was made?

| I've noticed the same thing about the battery connectors. I don't think we've ever come to a conclusion on the subject. It appears they left the gray ones in favour of the black ones about the time they moved to Taiwan but I'm not sure if it was before, after or if only Taiwan pedals have black connectors. |

Roger,
I don't know either when the battery clips changed. The Boss Book talks about 3 styles of clips and the sequence they were used - oldest to newest, but says nothing about WHEN they changed.
Do the wires going to the board feed through the board, or are they just tacked on to the component side?
Grace and peace,
Steve

Hey Steve,
They're just tacked. It's looking like it may in fact be MIJ...but that T-01K stamped in the housing...?
