I finally got my Holy Grail... The TC Electronic Booster + Line Driver & Distortion.

Why waste my time describing it ? It's just the best effect pedal ever. It doesn't need any introduction nor desciption. Just buy it.

It's not a pedal that "makes" a sound. It's a boost, an EQ, an overdrive, it's meant to be played in a full setup. It doesn't make any sense without an amp.

So any soundclip would be a soundclip of the guitar and amp, with this in addition. Not really useful. There are no soundclips because none can really be done.

I think it's basically meant to be used with a tube amp.On a mono-channel one, it can overdrive the tubes in order to give a really serious distortion. I also use it to overload all kind of gain stage, overdrive and distortion pedals, to achieve some fuzzy, infinite sustain sounds.

I believe that was Scott Ian's (of Anthrax) weapon of choice for many years, but then he got a signature pedal with Digitech....I wonder how many people with signature stuff actually use their own signature stuff???

In France, it's widely spread that Louis Bertignac used it for years. But I don't know if the band Telephone actually does mean anything outside France...

TC has made a reissue of this pedal:

http://www.tcelectronic.com/ClassicBoosterDistortion

Also reissued is the Sustain + Parametric EQ and the
Xll Phaser.

I havent tried the reissue so I dont now how they compare to the originals which were great pedals.

Hi Basstyra sorry that this is an old thread. I just bought my unit of TC BLD over eBay and expecting it to arrive in two weeks. Incidentally, the seller is from France! Do you know where I can find the manual online? I'm excited to get the BLD - two weeks ago, my friend who has one, came over to let me have a go at it and it was sweet sweet sounds from my Mesa Lonestar Special!

Hi moderneagle

Just a quick heads up.

I'm not sure your message will get to Basstyra, or if he will reply.
He has not posted or been here, that I can see since Nov. 2007.

He has his own web page, you might have more luck there.
Or try sending him a PM Private Mail, from the email Poster Icon.

Say hi from all of us if you write to him.

Regards Dr. Bob
