Hi, first time poster, I'm glad I found this site..

Quick question about an effects chain - I have an FBM-1 and a BD-2, both of which I quite like. I'm curious how most people would put these in their effects loop - would you put the BD-2 before or after the FBM-1?

It seems to me that you want to keep the FBM-1 pretty close to the guitar, because it does well with picking nuance and overall tone/warmth

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Sclitheroe, I would personally go guitar>bd-2>fbm-1>amp.
The FBM-1 along with the deluxe reverb models are supposed to change the character of your amp and act like a pre-amp, and I know some people have them "always on", using them to improve the tone after already going through a bunch of pedals. Hopefully it should still be responsive after the blues driver but as always there is no true correct way to order effects, if it sounds good go with it! I remember reading somewhere (probably on this forum!) that Johnny Greenwood of radiohead uses a delay/reverb before the rest of his effects chain (applying distortion, tremolo to the echo and repeats) for a few tracks, although I probably wouldn't recommend that most of the time...

I just tried switching my order around so its BD-2 -> FBM-1, and I think you are right, it does sound better that way.

I'm in uncharted territory sound wise - I've gone from a Peavey Rage-158 to a Roland JC-55 as my amp, so I've got so much more "resolution" to work with getting the sound good - with the Rage 158, it didn't make a huge difference which order you put things in, to be honest.
