I have a chance for a geb-7 at a pretty fair price and ive heard that it could be used for guitar with some success, but is there a simple mod to change the frequency range to ge-7 specs, or is this worthwhile?

I've used both the PQ-3B and the GEB-7 with guitar with no problems. It's probably not a big mod to change the frequency range but I don't think it's worth it anyway.

thanks for the good info bossarea. I went this morning and bought the geb-7 for 30 cdn. It's in excelent condition with the roland battery still in, no box but oh well. works great now I can get that twangy Fender sound with my Les Paul plus it kills the feedback (mostly)from my hollowbody 335 copy

I cant get much of a bass effect with single coil pickups but with humbuckers I found if I boost the bass and cut the treble so the sliders are at a 45 degree angle with the bass all the way up and treble all the way down and use my cs-3 ahead of it with the sustain cranked up and the attack at about half.I set the tone low and I can get quite a thump out of her through my old pv 212.

I find that the GEB7 does have some compression, which sounds nice. I do not seem to get that sound from the GE7. [probably another case of "each pedal sounds really different"!!]
Heh pedals 4 pv, sounds like you may like a real Strat as well, since you like to get Strat sounds out of your LesPaul.
I used to want something similar from my Les Paul, but these days I am happy to get those sounds from the real thing. Gosh those two sounds may be the only guitar sounds one may ever want in a whole lifetime..................................
Oh forgotten acoustic |

I can get a twangy telecaster sound from my Paul. I just use my strat to get the strat sound. Not a real Fender, but it's got semour duncan pickups and I like the feel of it. I have 2 real Gibsons and 5 other guitars as well. I would dearly like to have a VG strat, however the guitar budget says no. Maybe they will come out with a MIM version for a bit less money. I definately haven't forgotten the acoustic,as my Dove is my most prized posession. You won't get that sound with any strat not even with an AC-2,Ac-3 or any combination of pedals you can come up with.
