which company makes boss pedals in taiwan? is it beta aivin (makers of glx, boston eng, harley benton)? if you look at beta aivin's product line, a lot of them are similar to boss, and the components inside are almost similar. i also rehoused a glx overdrive in a dead boss ps-3 case and it was a perfect fit. i heard talk that these clones are actually boss's way of tapping into the budget market and to counter behringer's plastic clones. beta aivin also has some original pedals like the multi-effect me-100 and the sd-100soft distortion. i haven't tested all of their pedals but according to other forums, the ds-100 is a ds-1, the hm-100 is a mt-2 clone, the dd300 is like a dd-3 and the dd-600 is like the dd6. the od 100 however is not an overdrive, it sounds like an hm-2.

Interesting!
I suppose Boss had to response in some way to the Behringers, and this is logical.

From what I've gathered, Roland has their own manufacturing plant in Taiwan. There might be smoe more info here: http://www.rolandtaiwan.com.tw/roland/tw/about.php

The address on the Beta-Aivin site indicates that their factory is in Dongguan in the Gaungdong Province. My knowledge of the geography in the area is limited but I believe that's mainland China.
