Yes I know, titled very similar to another thread but here is the concept:
I'd like to know what kinds of pedalboards everyone is using. Brand, model # would be helpful. Any pluses or negatives about what you are using.
I see some homemade ones or modified cases, let us know what you are using to protect the pedals and crack open on the stage.
Here is a pic of mine (SKB ps-35) in total disarray at a recording session a few years ago. I have an updated pic floating around and will post that soon. This one is pretty big with a hard case which I like but the power supply and plastic connections are a little suspect at times. I guess a lifetime guarantee helps long term, not so much at a gig…..

Diago Gigman - 600mm x 300mm
Just enough room for 10/12 compacts, or 8 compacts and my DD-20. It's tall enough to accommodate larger pedals, as well (like those big EHX boxes) but it doesn't feel huge to lug around - Kind of like a large briefcase. Good and solid, no complaints.

I DIY'd mine from a Silent Knight Fire Alarm Control Panel Box cause I play with drunken idiots at times. The pedals stay on all the time, so I just close the lid, and run the cords through a couple of punch-outs that are on the case for wiring and cables for its intended purpose. It has a lock on it, so when we're done playing, I put all my cords in there and lock it up.

Hey jamo71 this comes in a soft case right? Any issues/concerns with a soft case? I know they are now making one with a hard case as well.

While I don't use a pedalboard anymore, I have everything rackmount these days or I just take 1 or 2 pedals, I'll show you how I did it in the past.
As you can see in the picture, I went the homebrew plank-o-wood route.
A piece of plywood covered in black plastic, with aluminium moulding round the edges, a self build power supply, sticky velcro to mount the pedals and a nice handle to top it off.
Before that I had ACA adaptors in wallwarts mounted on the board as can be seen on the second picture but it turned out to be too fragile.
Also those multi colored patch cords tear down way too fast, better to solder 'em yourself with good quality cord and Neutrik or similar heavy duty jacks.
One time someone in the audience was getting a little too excited, tripped over the monitor speaker and landed with his back on my wah, which yielded an unintentional but cool wah effect on the basspart I was playing  .

Yes, it has a soft case. I don't have much concern as it seems to be pretty well padded. I have heard some reviews of the zipper being sub-par, but time will tell. A hard case would be ideal, but this soft case seems ok. |

I've posted pics of mine on the forum a few times,i made it out of plywood,some 2x1 and a couple of old carpet tile i had lying around in the shed..i did woodwork in school for 5 years plus i worked in construction for 21 years so it wasn't too hard for me.....i was playing with the idea of building a pedalboard incorprating a couple of rack units i have into a lehle switcher..i saw a few different designs on the 'net already out there that i don't think would be too hard to copy...the only problem is finding the time with three kids and our singer already thinks what i'm using is taking up too much of his stage....... i really would like to incorparate the dynacord speaker sim into my set up...... |
