Hi Guys

A really close family friend of mine, has asked me to look at his
Alesis midiverb 4.
He attempted a factory reset, & he tells me that it now appears,
to no longer have any reverb effect.

I am guessing the lithium memory backup battery has gone flat.

But in case it's something more technical.
Does anyone have access to the Alesis midiverb 4 service manual, or the even a schematic.

Anyone here know any tips or tricks on this on?
I have the Quadraverb manual, but I gather it's a different beast circuit wise.

He needs it for a gig on New Years Eve, the singer uses it for vocals.

Thanks in advance
Regards Dr. Bob

Hey Bob any luck/did he get it working in time?

Also is there any way I could get a copy of your Quadraverb service notes? There's nothing wrong with mine but it would be nice to have service notes just in case. They are quite old and all.

Hi Alice
Yes I repaired it on the spot.
You couldn't imagine the look of Astonishment & Glee , from the owner.
As I mentioned he,(his wife) needed it to use on vocals, as they were doing a New Years Eve gig for many hundreds of people.

All I did was a factory reset, as simple as it was, it was beyond the understanding of the owner.

He left the Lab with big weight lifted off his shoulders.

As for the Quadraverb service manual, PM via the forum, & give me an address to email it to,
preferably not a Hotmail or Gmail/Yahoo or other free-mail if possible?

As Moderator, I email to so many hotmail free-mail accounts, I sometimes get flagged as a possible spammer. -- Go figure?

The PDF is about 1Meg in file size.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hello Dr. Bob,

I do not know will it help you or not, just I was looking around the web and found these links:

1. About factory resets:
http://www.candisc.com/ranger/presets.htm

2. A reference manual:
http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/mytrevo/myTrevo.jsp?page=man

Hope any of them will help you!

cheers

Hi ssanyee
Thanks for all your effort.
I managed to fix the unit, with a simple factory reset.
I will be checking the voltage on the Lithium memory backup battery, when He brings it back over.

Seems he was fiddling with some of the presets, & lost the global setting for output level, which he inadvertently set to zero.
