Hi Kulten. Wow. They look beautiful! I am currently looking for a new 5-string bass but sadly don't have the budget for something quite that expensive. I like the style of the Luthman basses but is there a similar looking bass out there with a much smaller price tag that you would recommend?

Look at a used Ken Smith maybe.. you can get a Burner series bolt-on for a fair price - they're very professional and durable.

Most of the Luthier-built basses will be over $3k even in the used market.

Given your geographic location.. maybe Japanese/Korean made stuff will be the best bang-for-buck. Look at a high-range Ibanez - their BTBs are nice and some are neckthru.

Cheers, Verivorax. I used to own a low end Ibanez and for the money it was quite good. Neckthru would be awesome, I'll check them out. I haven't heard of Ken Smith, but that's not surprising considering that when I used to play bass (10 years ago) I could only afford cheap stuff...

Thanks.

this one with a fretless option and just the neck pickup could be nice for me...
