The Boss book says that PW-2 was only manufactured for 9 month, so it should be rare. But here in Sweden its still for sale new at Musikborsen, the largest musicstore-chain here. Why is that, is it still in production or have started up again?? I like this pedal anyway, lots of bottom-end and low on highs. |

That's one of the things I was referring to in the "rare" thread. The PW2 is incredibly easy to find here in the States also. It can be found for quite a good price as well.
I think it would be cool if they would revise the Boss Book to be a little more accurate with the market for today.
Maybe we can come up with some sort of "who's looking for what pedal" thread or maybe there's a way to have "signatures" in posts that have "want lists" and "for sale/trade lists"? |

Don't know if the Boss book claim is true or not. The same book claims it was sold from 96 to 2000. Did it really take them that long get rid of their 9 month production?
The production is probably much larger these days than it was in the late 70s, early 80s so even if it is true, they probable produced more PW-2s in 9 months than they produced SG-1s in 3 years. |

I think there are a few of those types of things in the Boss Book. Another example is in the production timeline where it gives the production period of the CE2 as less than half the time it was actually produced (according to information I've gathered from the net).
I definitely find it hard to believe that the PW2 is very rare at all compared to some of the earlier models, in spite of what the Boss Book claims. |

| Yes, the CE-2 production years are just redicilous. The boss book says the stopped making it 82. Still we find Made in Taiwan models though the production in Taiwan didn't start until December 86. More likely it was produced up until -92. |

| Imagine my surprise when I got a new in the box CE2 before finding out that the timeline was incorrect! I had thought that someone had replaced the bottom plate with the wrong one. Oh well, at least I could do a couple of mods on it without much worry about it's value, since it was actually a Taiwanese made pedal. |

I was yesterday at one of Musikborsens stores (there are about 15 in Sweden) and asked a very nice person if he could check why they still sold PW-2. He consulted his coputer and came up with that there was 2 NOS PW-2 in Sweden. He also checked with Roland Scandinavia, they had none and havent had in a good time. So we can conclude that ther aint no second period manufactured PW-2. |

That makes sense. The PW-2 was never a big seller anyway so re-releasing it doesn't sound like a good idea in the first place. |
