G'day! So, I keep hearing about the SG-1 and I see the prices you-know-where. I'm curious, and BYOC say "The BYOC Lazy Sprocket kit is an exact clone of the Boss SG-1 Slow Gear, but modified for true bypass"
Does anyone have an opinion on this? Is it worth the $100 to check out what an SG-1 would be like?

You've heard what one sounds like right? I've got an SG-1 sample laying around here somewhere.. I'll try to find it, if not, maybe someone else has one.

i know they're shit, but what about the Behringer SM-200? Has anyone tried this yet? i think they're about 20 from Thomann, so probably less faff than making your own (assuming they've copied the effect properly).

In the process of making a SG1 clone, got the pcb from GG, and the parts I couldn't scrounge up in my stockpile, got them from Small Bear for about $20-30.
Was thinking of mentioning the Behringer line, already have the Sp1 clone and looking at a few others like trem/pan, rotary machine, vibrato Some the pedals they have do suck, and some are really good, from the reviews I've read.

Hey ChristoMephisto - I'm really interested to hear the ongoing progress and maybe some pics of your SG-1 clone project! Good stuff!
On Behringer... I own (or have owned) the following: - DD100. A bit "clinical", but a good work horse. - DR100. Same as DD100 above. - UC100. Nice. My ears can't tell the difference from my CH-1. - PB100. OK. A bit muddy, but it works well enough to still be on my board. - TU100. Works. Faultless. (but I don't run anything out of it - I just send to the input through an A-B switch. - CS100. Gone. Replaced with a Marshall ED-1 (much happier).

I have made a number of the BYOC pedals, as I am one of the moderators over on their forum, including the Slow Gear clone. I cannot say how it compares to the Boss, because I have never heard or seen one in person, but it does do what it does well. For me I just had issues getting it dialed in right as at times it acted a bit like my NF-1. Its kind of a neat effect, just cannot really find a use for it with my playing at this point...The BYOC stuff is really good though, and the Canadian distributor at AxeAndYeShallReceive.com is a great guy, which is good because if you are outside of the US you cannot order directly from BYOC, and will have to order from one of the distributors...
