I wonder what you get if you buy it. My guess would be a CS-3

From the description, the thing killed its previous owner. Now that's a bad pedal!

Steve: I'm afraid that you're going to have to identify the suspect from a lineup:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSS-ODB-3-BASS-OVERDRIVE-PEDAL_W0QQitemZ7394932023QQcategoryZ64417QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

(AC Adaptor looks around the room, whistling)

And he used every one of these exactly two times before passing away. I wonder if Forensics be able to determine if that was two individual moments where all of them were used simultaneously, or were they each used twice separately over a longer period of time?

Aw, c'mon Chris. A tremolo pedal never hurt nobody. But a flanger? It'd be MY first suspect. Then again, that whistling ac adapter sounds a little suspicious. We may have to interogate that one.

Forget about the Bass Overdrive. You'll never convince anybody that it even got used.

I'll leave the tuner up to you.

Grace and peace,

Steve

Steve, you would be surprised that that Bassoverdrive sounds quite well actually. Have a basspupil who does have one, and during the lesson I use this on my guitar and the sound is almost like a OD-1.

Anyway, yes folks it is great to see how much imagination some sellers have, and there knowledge of the English language may lack a little from time to time as well.

As for "What one would get in one bought any of these pedals?" I have to say that it adds to the mystery of life. Do have two MXR pedals and a DD-5 which belonged to a user who is no longer part of this globe. Not really sure if this person died during a sudden accident of a fatal disease. Felt I could not ask the wife too many questions about the nature of the death of her husband.

Am I not too naive as death is used often as a selling point by sellers? Well I guess in this case in was true, but it is strange to see that sellers do use this as a way to advertise their product.

Just an question for both of you: How does one call someone who spents a lot of time on Ebay?

Don't get me wrong, I find this fun to notice as well, but I guess when one would not frequent Ebay that often the joke would totally go over ones head. Have not visited Ebay for about four weeks now, feels very good and peaceful, but I have to say, all of this stems out of practical matters, not really because I have developed a dislike for pedals or anything soundwise.............................

Keep up the good work guys!!!

4 weeks without ebay?!? That's crazy!

ebay sends me e-mails every day to tell me what I should look at. I must look. It would be rude not to.

Grace and peace,

Steve

That explains why I did not really get the meaning of this post, as when I opened the link I noticed a BF-3 so felt like:"Huh what do they mean here?"

Think the seller should invite you for a drink, or even better, buy you Robotalk as a way of saying "Thank you sir for you kind advice"

I like that Robotalk, too. The Boss SE-50 has a patch called the step phaser that is similar to the Robotalk's random arrpegiate mode. I need to record some clips of that one of these days.

Oh, and just for those who came in late on this thread. Originally, the ebay listing said BF-2, but the pic was a TR-2 tremolo pedal & the description said BF-3.

Grace and peace,

Steve

You know, at first blush, I want to feel bad about this now, but -- mabye it's just me, but I wouldn't be on eBay selling a family member's belongings only a few days after I lost them. Perhaps if my mind wasn't working like it should be, then a little bit more bereavement time is in order. Unless the proceeds are immediately necessary for some reason -- but I'd really hate to think that there would be a bunch of people shoving bills into survivor's faces that quickly.

I'll probably get to find out for myself one day.

Ah, yes, another life lesson brought to you by ebay. We're all gonna be in the box someday, but nobody likes to think about it. Just went to a funeral last week for a co-worker. Died of brain cancer at the age of 28.

"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom", says the Bible.

You just don't know how many days you've got, and when you're gone, they sell off your pedals to strangers to pay your bills!

"For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."

Grace and peace,

Steve

All very true guys, but I still can't help feeling that some sellers use death as a sellingpoint, an advertising stunt if you like. True it sounds a bit morbid, but then different people get attracked to different things. It would not do it for me personally, but I am sure some people may like it just for kicks.

What is the reason for telling people why you are selling a product on Ebay after all? Do we really believe people are interested why you would like to sell your X Y Z because of ABC ?? All people want to know if it is working fine and be able to get the item for a good price. The item itself should sell itself as most people will know what they are looking at. In case one sells an unusual item then a few links, which add some detail about the product, could clarify what a particar item does, but apart from that I can see no reason for adding any colourful explantions to your listings.

Cheers

Some of us use Ebay to add pedals to their collection, other may use it as a sheer for of entertainment..........and then, off course, there are the folks who combine these two combinations. From all of them the last ones may be the hardest to understand..........................
