Hi Boss Fans, When i plug in my new (and my old) ACA adaptor into my black labeled Japanese made chrorus pedal the LED light seems to phase in and out like its pulsing. When i plug in a PSA adaptor its very dim and when i plug in a One Spot adaptor nothing happens. The nice people at One Spot said it may be soldering, I wasn't sure if i need a new adaptor jack or not. When i plug in a 9volt battery the LED light shines bright and works fine. frustrated rocker Opie. thx for any help, (i'm not a tech person so keep it dumbed down please) :) ps.I attached a pic of the pedal im speaking of.

Hi. Try to use other adaptor's brand and see what happens. I have a sony adaptador here, 12v and it works great with CE-2! Maybe the solder led is lax. Another option is to connect the CE-2 and other pedals together in chain and power them up. See if the problem still is there. Sometimes, one pedal, alone, don't light right. |

Welcome opie!
I have 2 CE-2s and I have the same 'problem' but I think it's normal. I'm not technical either and someone else can probably tell you why this happens. Something to do with not enough current or voltage.
When I run the CE-2 in my BCB-60 is works fine and I think I have used a 5 spot adaptor and used all the spots and the CE-2 works fine too.
I find that you get a slightly different sound when you don't get a full light. A little bit of distortion!
Hope that helps.

The CE-2 is one of the old ACA pedals, and needs 12 volts DC on the adapter jack to work properly. When powered alone, it will not light up with a 9vDC source. The voltage provided to the circuit is too low (like if the battery was flat).
However, when it is powered from the same source as a "normal" PSA pedal, and there are signal cables between the pedals, the chorus will power up properly with 9vDC. The pedal can also be modified to work by itself with 9 volts, but it is not essential if you're using a daisy-chain type supply (like in the BCB-60).

| Im using a Roland ac adaptor acr-120 9v but instead of 200mA and 9w its 500mA and 12w and that seems to work fine. I also solder just in case it was lax too. |

| Woe Nelly!....It sounds like you're using 9V AC instead of 9V DC. This is not good. It needs Direct Current (DC) instead of Alternating Current (AC). I use a Voodoo Labs pedal power and set the CE-2 power for the old ACA (not AC) power and it works wonderfully. |
