I like the idea of a virtual band, so I decided to make a new topic.

I'm sure between the members we'd get guitar, bass, drums and vocals down as plenty of us have mini studios, or at least the ability to record. We'd have to set up a few guidelines between us (ie. file format, upload sites etc), but we could have a 'virtual' BossArea band.

TrakAx (http://www.trakax.com/software/pc/) is a free music mixing software, it works quite well. As it is free, everyone can download & use it.

Seriously, I'm not sure what I could contribute. Lots of nice pics of restored gear for the album cover?

We should agree that...

1) All files will be uploaded to MediaFire.com . Free uploading. Free downloading, with no limit or wait time.
2) All files will be uploaded as mp3
3) Files will be added as single tracks. Whoever calls 'next' on the track states which instrument they will be adding. No-one adds until their new part has been uploaded.
Example. Person A uploads a guitar part and a click track as 2 separate mp3's. (Click track will be necessary for timings on everything, unless someone starts with a drum track) Person B reponds to the topic saying me next, and decides to add a drum track. None adds until drum track is complete. Person B then records drum track and uploads only the drum track as an mp3. Original files stay intact.
This way, one of our mixing genius' from the forum can do the final mix with all the individual tracks. (The original tracks may require to be uploaded after time, as the files expire)
4) State the tuning (please use a tuner if you have one), and feel free to add a quick tab.

Does that make sense? Anything else that should be added to that?
This could be fun. I have a few riffs cutting about, but probably will not get a chance to record them for a few weeks or so.

I also suggest that we start a new thread for each track. If I start a track, I could call the thread...
'Virtual Band - DasBeef Seed 1'
That way we could have a few going at the same time. Instead of 'Seed 1', if you have a track title in mind you could use that.

No doubt, but I'm curious why you think we would care?

Alright - to get things started, here are two versions of the same drum loop @135 bpm created with Hammerhead. The first uses the Roland 909 preset, the second is an acoustic sound.

To add to what DasBeef said, please tell us all which key you are playing in.

Go crazy.

Well Redundant made some drumbeats so I'll try to add some guitar or bass this week.
