Does anyone know of a place to get touch of paint for Boss pedals? It's a bit of a lame question, but I really get sick of looking at big paint chips & scratches.
I believe the paint is baked on for greater durability (at least on the Taiwanese products, probably the only improvement with manufacturing location change), and you aren't going to be able to touch-up to as good of quality. I think touch-up jobs look as bad as scratches and dents.
Unless somebody out there knows what type of paint is used on the pedals, you would probably have to take a sample for a a hidden spot and give it to your local crime scene unit for analysis. (Can you tell that I am a big CSI fan?) After you have that figured out maybe you could get somebody somewhere to make custom color-matched paints for you.
I agree that touching up the scars will usually look just as bad and possibly worse. I tried to drop fill a scratch on the OD-1 I had back in the 80s and it looked terrible. I used the enamel paint you normally use for model airplanes. It didn't have the same shade of yellow and it's surface looked different than the original paint.
The only good thing is that if the current owner drops it on Ebay I would be able to recognise it
