Hi guirat

quote:

I have a Devi Ever Disaster Fuzz.

I use a Boss OD-1 in front of it (needn't be switched on) to tame it to my liking. Without a buffered pedal in front it's too over the top for me

What a great tip...
We all tend to forget the simple stuff, that can be done with our collection of pedals.

Hi Dr Bob,

I can't claim the tip as my own, I found it on the Devi site, but it is certainly a good one. Without it I think a lot of people (myself included) would have found the pedal very limited in application otherwise.

I'm not sure why it works, does a Boss pedal cut the signal from the guitar or boost it? Other pedals do not work (i.e. MXR), it must be to do with the buffering in a Boss pedal (but that's as far as my tech knowledge goes :) )

Hi guirat & Guys

It probably has more to do, with the fact, that the OD-1 is being used as an impedance converter.

The Devi Ever Disaster Fuzz, is probably like most other fuzz pedals, it has a low impedance input.

The OD-1 has a Medium-Z in of about 250K Ohms, & a very Low-Z output of 600 ohms or more.

Do you have any specifications on your Devi Ever Disaster Fuzz?

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi, sorry I have no specs on the pedal, and couldn't see any on the website. I have a multimeter but it looks like it only measures resistance, voltage and amps? I could take measurements if I knew how to. I imagine measuring across the input jack and something on the board then something on the board and the output jack? It's also one of those pedals where the innards are all wrapped in tape, but if I knew what to look for.

I have a E13 TBD & Synth Mangler and a ZVex Fuzz Factory. All will glitch and gate the signal.

I also used used my bass players E-fects Bias Fuzz on our last EP... you can hear my guitar riff arpeggiating as it decays at about 2'38" in 'The Blue Screen Of Death'
