Ever buy a pedal you hunted and hunted for paid too much money for and it didn't live up to what you expected? Ever sell something you wished you could get back - maybe your story will help someone else not get rid of or pay too much for some over-hyped pedal and help us hang on to the good ones????
I hate that I sold some of my original boss MIJ pedals from the 80's ... although I have replaced them, dangit, its just not the same!!! |

A nice thumb-cut TW-1 "touch"-wah box and manual. I won't find another, probably not even for the $50 I sold it for. |

1992 "HM" series strat. Lots of setup (hand cut graphite nut etc.). Tried to buy it back from the friend I sold it to but he liked it too much. Ended up buying a used one of the same model last year. Lucky everyone hates them and it was cheap ;-)

I had an Ampeg VH-140CH head that I BUILT. (worked for SLM Electronics in St. Louis) LOVED THAT AMP.... If I could ever find that baby... As for Boss products, I had a bunch of 80's MIJ pedals that I loved, then hated, and sold... You guys know the deal...

I have sold too many pedals, guitars and amps that I regret.
I have paid too much for some pedals, but not too many. VB-2 for around US$ 350 some years ago. |

I've never regretted selling anything on ebay at least yet, but I have regretted buying stuff on ebay though. When I put something on there to sell, I've pretty much made up my mind that I'll never want it back or want the same item ever again. But I have in the past purchased something on there and paid a good amount for it and then a few months later look at the item and wonder why I even bought it.
Just this week a matter of fact, I placed a bid on something that I liked. It was a small hand made wooden box with a really cool design on the sides and a great looking picture on the top of it. The current bid was $10.00 or something like that. I put a $50.00 bid on it and was the highest bidder at $25.00. But even a few minutes after placing my bid, regretting that I placed the bid started to set in. However, I was outbid by $1.00 right at the end, but I was actually really happy that I was outbid though, so now I won't pay $50.00 for something that I'll put on a shelf for a few months and then wonder why I purchased it. |

I never understand why people never liked those, a Strat with a Floyd sounds like a pretty good idea to me.......
They couldn't even give those things away in the 90s though ;)
Future classic perhaps?

Slowly I start regretting selling my HM-2 too early since prices seem to be skyrocketing up with all those Death Metal guys scorching the planet for some heavy-doom-sound-in-a-box (How come we don't have a headbanging smiley on a musicians forum?)
I did make 10 euros profit on it though |
